Carnival 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 I'm not voting, is that ok? I don't have the proper program to open the spreadsheet. Plus i don't have the time to listen to all these albums. So i don't want to taint the voting with guesses.
Beast 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 For now - Brian - 65 Mystery Eskimo - 60 Decemberists -
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Brian - 65 I assumed I get shitted on for all the hip hop. Anything you particularily liked?
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 If CC isn't marking, then the rest of us can't really mark his entry, as it means that he'll have a greater number of marks available to him than anyone else. Unless we do it by average mark instead of total marks.
Beast 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Well, you still got first from me, but since I'm more of a rock guy, the hip-hop didn't really do it for me. I really dug the Costello, Jackson, and Clash stuff, and like I said before For No One is one of my favorite Beatle songs. I actually liked most of the songs on your album, especially the Mos Def one. But I graded more conservatively this time on everyones. Last time, I didn't give any 0's at all. Guest Brian Report post Posted May 22, 2005 I think you're score needs to be averaged. I think that's hwy it comes off so high.
Beast 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2005 Yeah, I know, but It doesn't matter since the main point of this is to find new songs, and I've been opened up to a lot so I guess it all works out.

Carnival 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2005 thanks sterling, but i don't have the time to give everyone's album a fair listen. So instead of tainting the voting, we can just pretend i never entered. I'd like to know if anyone dug any of the songs...i doubt it, judging from the tracklists i've seen, you people like real music.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2005 Without meaning to be cruel CC, listening to your selection was possibly the worst hour my eyes have had in a long long time I'll have my marks up tomorrow, that is if I can cope after having my rock star moptop locks cut off
Carnival 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2005 Without meaning to be cruel CC, listening to your selection was possibly the worst hour my eyes have had in a long long time I'm seriously sorry that i wasted an hour of your time. Not one song that you even "didn't hate"? haha I knew i was in the wrong competition.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Beast - 35.5 Decemberist - 37.5 Mystery Eskimo - 34.
Beast 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Ok, so how can everyone get less than at least a 45, if the topic was songs with numbers in the title pretty much everyone's songs had numbers in the titles. Half the scores are closeness to the topic, right?
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 24, 2005 We all divide by two, average the score. I've been telling you to do that.
The Decemberists 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 I mark them differently. Like the topic is numbers, so for 3/3 the song needs to be about numbers. If someone had entered You're The One That I Want from Grease, say, then just as that has a number in the title and lyrics, it's not about numbers, so I'd give it 1/3 as it is number related, but not specifically about numbers. If that makes any sense.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Yeah, I did the same. I also marked lower on songs using years because they're about a particular time rather than about numbers. Maybe I thought about it too much though I just have Chave's to listen to and I'll be finished.
Beast 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2005 Oh, I misunderstood when you said average your scores the first time. I thought you meant the scores that people give mine, for some odd reason. Ok, in that case here's my updated scores... Brian - 32.5 Mystery Eskimo - 30 Decemberists - 27 Sterling - 24.
Guest Brian Report post Posted May 24, 2005 I was just fair and gave everyone the points, the graded harshly on quality.

Guest Brian Report post Posted May 26, 2005 My tastes are very ecclectic. I'm going to post all sixteen songs, from different artists, that I cut at some point. Brubeck's awesome. That song's in 5/4, hence "Take Five".
