JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 Okay, so as far as I know, the buyrate number equals the percent of people with capability to order a wrestling PPV who did. For instance, let's say a PPV gets a 1.0. Then 1% of people with the capability in their house to order it did. Is that right? I'm trying to figure out how well PPVs prior to 2001, especially older WWF and WCW PPVs did buyrate wise. For instance, how did the first fourteen Wrestlemanias (not counting the first, of course) rank for amount of buys? Summerslams? Royal Rumbles? When is it fair to start comparing buyrate numbers? And how can you take a number from a past WWF PPV and figure out how many people bought the show? For instance, Wrestlemania 10 got a 1.68 buyrate. But how many people actually saw the show? Was it a success or a flop?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted April 28, 2005 I think for Wrestlemania 10, that was a success, but it would probably tanslate to a 1.2 or 1.3 today since then, people still were just getting PPV access. I wonder how something like Wrestlemania III would be like today (I think WWE blacked out the PPV in Michigan that year, so that boosts the number a tiny bit).
