GameFly Free 30 Day Trial

Yeah but then they say "Allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of first game", making both of them seem kinda pointless.

Ah, I was just referring to what my friend said about it... Back when it was a 2-week free trial, which made it kinda pointless.

they say that to cover their asses, when you first sign up for them is usually pretty fast, ive had Gamefly for about 2 yearsand for a while there their delivery times was just attrocious, Im in Miami so sometimes it would take them over a week, but in the last two months or so they seem that they got their act together cuz know i get them in 3 days max. I love that site.

For some reason, I don't rent games anymore. I'll pick up one a month with my free rental cards for each month at Hollywood Video, which I got from buying my Xbox at GameCrazy. But for some reason, I don't play games that I rent very much. I guess part of me is afraid I'll enjoy it, get halfway through it, and have to take it back, thus tainting the experience if I buy the game.

However, this GameFly deal is nice because I can try out games I'm iffy on, such as Doom 3, Unreal Championship 2, and Jade Empire. Also, I can probably complete the short games and then, if they're really good, buy them later on when the price drops (I.E. Jade Empire again, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Lego Star Wars).

Too bad the mailman doesn't bring the mail to our front door, though, so I can't imitate the commercial. :(

I think exactly the same way. So I'm all about eBay and the used games section moreso now, and only buy a game if I know I'll enjoy it.

I buy used games, but not very often as I am very praticular about game and box conditions. I like to keep all my games, DVDs, and CDs (along with their cases) flawless. Besides, newer titles only go for about $5 cheaper used.

Thank God for CheapAssGamer.com. Out of my 18 Xbox games, I don't think I've paid more than $30 for any of them, and they're mostly newer releases. Older titles, such as KOTOR, I got for $5 new and sealed. Plus they have people who work at every store that sells games, just about, and they have ads and sales (whether advertised or not) posted a week or two in advance.

Legos Star Wars and Jade Empire shipped yesterday, although I'm not sure I should play through Lego since it will likely spoil parts of Episode III....

I also have Unreal Championship 2, Star Wars: Episode III ROTS, Donkey Konga 2, Doom 3, and a few others which I'm forgetting ready to ship as soon as I send either or both of the first games back.

Did nobody else get in on the deal?

Yeah, I got in on this deal yesterday. I signed up the day you first posted this, and since I didn't have the money in my account I was gonna just sign up for it yesterday when I got paid. I didn't think I was gonna still get the 30 day trial, but it still gave it to me which was pretty damn sweet. I got Star Wars: Republic Commando and Psychonauts on the way with Chaos Theory and WM21 waiting when I return those.

This is indeed a sweet ass deal. Good job posting it. I bookmarked cheapassgamer.com, so I gotta go there more often to get in on some of the other deals they got there.
