Me & a couple buddies are taking a trip to SoCal to catch games in LA, Anaheim, and San Diego, and we were debating whether to purchase tickets before making the trip, or just buying them the day of the games.

Is anyone able to tell me what attendance is like for these 3 teams? Would it be better to pre-purchase, or would we be OK buying on game day? It'll be Phillies/Padres, Phillies/Dodgers, and Angels/(don't remember - Mariners?), all during the 2nd week in August. We'd be getting the cheap seats.

Thanks!

(For reference, we did Florida last year, and had no problems getting tickets on game day in Miami (duh!), in Tampa Bay (duh!), and in Atlanta).

For the most part you can get Padres tickets on the day of the games, however there have been times where people went to the game and was turned back because they sold out. it really depends on their performance at the time and the opponent of that game.

I've been to a few Dodger games, and it's pretty easy to buy tickets near game-day, but it depends on the time of year, to be honest. L.A. is more of a basketball town for obvious reasons, but Dodger games can get pretty packed. I doubt you'll have much trouble getting tickets there or in Anaheim (which still has a really small fanbase considering where it is, although I'm not sure how it is nowadays since I haven't gone to an Angels game since before they won the World Series).

Not to mention the shitloads of scalpers that are outside the games, although I doubt you'd get that desperate...

Dodger Stadium is pretty wild in the parking lots, especially at nights. I don't particularly like Anaslime..

Make sure that you pre-buy before Angels games. A ton of people show up for weekend and division games.
