Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Come visit my golf rankings website. The site is updated every week featuring that week's PGA Tour and European Tour tournaments. Also, right now a simulated match-play championship is occurring (double-elimination) for the top 64 golfers in last year's rankings. Here's the site: Kierk World Golf Index
CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Interesting, to say the least. The Official World Golf Rankings, I find, to be a little too what have you done for me lately.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 WAY too much emphasis on the European Tour. Most of the world's best golfers are on the PGA Tour; there's no way victories on the two tours should be equivalent.
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Fair enough criticism but I think that Europe has a lot of bright talent that a lot of people don't talk about (i.e. Paul McGinley, Colin Montgomerie, etc.) that decide to play in Europe and not in the United States. After all, Europe has had dominating performances in the Ryder Cup because of this talent. Also, the rankings give more points for World Golf Championships, the PGA TOUR Championship/PLAYERS Championship, and the majors so the gives ample opportunity for a lot of golfers on the PGA Tour, if they are indeed better, to gain points on their European counterparts. After all, most of the golfers in the top 25 are ranked in the world top 25 as well. Just my take on things.
