Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 I had been using SoulSeek to download music, but for the past few weeks, it's been taking 20 minutes+ to download a song that should take 30 seconds (I have a 1.5 Mbps DSL connection). Are there any decent programs other than torrents that anyone would recommend? I'm wanting to listen to some albums that are on sale this week before deciding whether or not to buy them. Kardo 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2005 Ares Lite Edition is what I use.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2005 Thanks for the recommendation. I actually downloaded Limewire after a friend recommended it to me, and it seems to be pretty good so far. Kotz had recommended Kazaa Lite, but it, you know, costs money and stuff.

Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2005 Definitely not. Anytime you see something like that, it's a scam. I prefer Shareaza over all others these days.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2005 Every single Kazaa lite download site I found was charging money for it. Not much, I'll admit, but they were still charging.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2005 Ares sometimes doesn't want to work right, I'm not sure why. As in it takes forever to post the results and all that. As far as LimeWire goes, there are a lot of corrupted files on there so just watch out, it'll warn you usually though whereas Ares doesn't (though on Ares there don't seem to be as many corrupt). I'd just download both of those and use them for whatever when it is necessary.
