I don't see how they could just have it be over after Sunday. The chance of that happening is almost down to 0% by this point if you ask me.

Would WWE be willing to build it up though? I know they'd recognize the monetary reward if there was a successful ECW, but would they really be willing to create a whole new infrastructure for it? Would they try to put it on TV when there's already trouble with their own shows (being bounced off networks or moved to piss poor timeslots)? Would they pay all the old guard ECW guys to wrestle, or would they populate it with OVW types and a smattering of the more popular ECW names?

 

I'd like to see a new ECW with the marketing and money behind it it deserves, but I'm almost afraid that if they announce ECW's return on even a semi-permanent basis, the "specialness" on the PPV is lost.

Another solid week of RAW and Smackdown IMO. JBL's promo on ECW was great. A little lame to see Tazz come back as a wrestler but it was set-up pretty well. Still unsure about what to expect this Sunday as to RAW/SD v ECW

The ending was great but what would've blown the roof off the place would've been the lights going out and Taz standing in the middle of the ring with the towel over his head.

I liked this SMDN show this week. After this is there any doubt Kurt is getting destroyed at the ECW show this weekend, likely with a katahijime? Oh and it is TAZ for those who remember the vicious badass from ECW, which was critical for that angle with Angle.

 

This whole thing isn't going to amount to much anyway. I figure these idiots just show up and get the shit kicked out of them anyway. Actually I had the thought that since most of the gimps already got beat down by ECW guys this week most won't even show up or will turn tail and run, leaving Kurt, JBL, and Bischoff to get their asses kicked.

 

Just wondering but why hasn't Bradshaw mentioned the ECW guys wrecking his PPV match at Mind Games in 96 (vs. Savio Vega?) when they disrupted things?
