Uh, yeah he can be. One season of excelling in an area that doesn't even necessarily constitute being good doesn't mean he's not bad. He's been okay at best his entire career. He's been awful the last two seasons. Who gives a shit if he had 33 saves one season? Danny Graves had 41 last season. Does that mean he wasn't garbage?

When I dismissed Giambi's home run, it was a cautionary tale that it does not mean a resurgance to old form for Giambi. I didn't mean to dismiss his accomplishment.

 

In this case as well, it is nice to see Jeter finally come through in the clutch. Maybe now he can get the monkey off his back.

It was impressive, but c'mon, the Devil Rays are hardly a major league team. It was an impressive feat, but they were right back to sucking ass the next day.
