natey2k4 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2005 I attended lasts night's Neo Spirit Pro Wrestling show in Napanee, Ontario, Canada at the Strathcona Paper Centre. One of the best live shows I've ever attended, as every match got a good amount of time, and I throughly enjoyed every match, except one. Here's a rundown of the results, and my thoughts. Mixed Lucha Tag Match Taratula Gomez & Tiana d.Kobra Kai & Cherry Bomb *Fun match. Lasted about 8 or 9 minutes, and was refreshing to see live. A few very nice spotty moves, and the girls didn't look half bad. Not a great story or anything, but fun. Ruffy Silverstein d. Kris Chambers *Second best match of the night. Lasted about 16 or 17 minutes. Told a great story and had a lot of great mat work. One of the best Indy matches I've ever seen live. Ruffy is fantastic. 'The Highlander' Robbie MacAllister d. Cutthroat *Suprisingly fun. Lasted about 10 minutes. MacAllister is a great talent and Cutthroat was WAY better than I expected. I enjoyed the match, although it wasn't in my top five of the night. 3 Way Tag Team Championship Elimination Match Hayden Avery & JT Playa w/ Jennifer Blake d. The Suicide Kids & The Italianos w/ Carmen. *Third best match of the night. Just FANTASTIC all around. Italianos had one of the hottest managers I've ever seen and her shirt wouldn't stay up LOL. She was great as a valet though, even ignoring how beautiful she was. Jennifer Blake was very attractive too, BUT was just terrific as the heel valet. -Italianos were eliminated after about 15 minutes, when Xtremo of the Suicide Kids nailed a beautiful 450 splash. -The Suicide Kids had actually won the belts, but Blake placed Playa's foot on the rope and complained to the ref after he handed the titles to the Kids. The referee restarted the match, and Blake gave Avery the title. Xtremo hit another 450 (third of the match) but Avery had the title and both sold it awesome. Xtremo was then pinned by Playa. -After the match the Kids stole the titles to a HUGE pop, and then Xtremo hit ANOTHER 450 to a huge pop. This was just as beautiful if not better than Paul London's 450. Cody 45, the other Suicide Kid, hit an awesome cockscrew type move on Playa at the same time. -Xtremo played an awesome Ricky Morton by the way. - Match overall lasted about 23 minutes. INTERMISSION Cody Steele d. James Champagne *I didn't catch the other guys name, which sucked cause he was fun.(EDIT - found out his name). Cody Steele is a terrific Rick Martel type heel. Plays off the crowd beautifully. Fun Match for a live crowd, but I don't know if it'd be too good on DVD. Too much crowd playing for DVD I think but great live. Match lasted about 12 minutes. TABLES, LADDERS, and CHAIRS 'Dangerboy' Derek Wylde w/ Jennifer Blake d. Sean Spears & TJ Harley. *MATCH OF THE FUCKING NIGHT. This was phenomenal in every sense of the word. New found respect for Indy guys. The bumps these guys took were INSANE. 3 Table spots, and some great ladder stuff. Derek Wylde got hurt on the first ladder spot of the match, but continued and pulled off a great match. It was Legit too. A bruise covering his entire thigh showed up within about 20 seconds, and his ankle really didnt look to be in the best of condition. - Best spot took place as Derek Wylde and TJ Harley set two ladders up with a table inbetween. They then set a door, thats right a DOOR on top of the ladders as a Bridge. The threw a few punches, and the ladders sucked literally, so it was Dangerous just doing that. But then Dangerboy jumped up, and came down with a DDT on TJ Harley through the door and the table! HOLY SHIT IS RIGHT! I marked out so huge for that spot, it was just insane. Jennifer Blake helped Dangerboy wake up and get the title for the win. Fucking awesome match. Lasted about 15 minutes. Main Event Tag Team Match. Honky Tonk Man & Jason Cage d. Phil Latio & Notorious T.I.D. *Not very good, as Honky Tonk Man has just gotten worse then he ever was. Cage, TID, and Phil Latio are all talented, but Honky Tonk turned it old school, and not good old school. Cage took a table bump, which was fun however. Match lasted about 15-20 minutes.. Fun I guess, but I really dont like Honky Tonk Man. _________________________ Overall it was a GREAT NIGHT. And here are a few highlights... *At the end of the show, some guy tried to steal Honky Tonk Man's robe. Hahaha, yeah seriously. T.I.D, stared him down and the guy threw it back and run away (with his family). Haha, just hilarious. T.I.D was pissed though which lead too... -Some guy threw something at T.I.D and got up in his face and started saying shit that doesn't involve wrestled whatsoever. The guy swung at T.I.D about 4 times (not sure if he made contact) so T.I.D gave him a soft slap back. The man went absolutely INSANE, trying to get at T.I.D. and "kick his ass". The guy ended up have a "sesare(sp?)" and the paramedics had to come. He worked himself up so badly, that he forced himself into that. I used to live near the guy and he's an ass, but I still don't wish the final part upon him. A couple bright spots... *ALL the faces, minus the Honky Tonk Man, shook everyone's hand in the front row. The Suicide Kids were the best, as they acknowledged me a few times. Cage was awesome too. Same with Harley. Gomez and Tiana as well were awesome. Front Row Rules. *During the Main Event, Jennifer Blake was trying to get Dangerboy up and started chanting his name pounding the mat. (Dangerboy was a huge heel). Me and my friend started chanting for Dangerboy and she looked at us confused at first. Literally confused as to why people (mostly us) were chanting for Dangerboy. We got the chant pretty loud by ourselves, and she just looked over finally and screamed "YOUR NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO CHANT FOR DANGERBOY" so we just kept it up. Just awesome. *Me and a few other friends started up quite a few of the chants, which was cool. Starting chants and hearing others join is fun. The Best Moments of the Night *Meeting Ruffy Silverstein. Nicest person in the world. Talked to me for a good half hour about everything. Gave me a free picture, and signed it. Along with signing the previous picture I had of him. Incredible guy. *Getting 'Dangerboy' Derek Wyldes autograph. Great times too, he's a very nice guy. Thanked him for the match, as that was the least he deserved. *Also meet Carmen, although only a hi. Robbie MacAllister, who was munching away on a power bar, VERY NICE guy. and Jason Cage, who was very nice as well. Honky Tonk Man was pretty much the only person I met, that was being a dick. *Sat down with a couple friends and talked to a referee, PeeWee, for well over an hour. Very nice guy, who had some great road stories to tell us. Throughly enjoyed that meeting. So all in all, one of the best nights of my life. I loved it. Guest caucasianheat Report post Posted June 21, 2005 A lot of the Neo/FSPW guys used to make the trek down to Windsor for Border City Wrestling, and I cans afely say that they're all top-notch guys to shoot the shit with at the intermission. I've been meaning to check out some NSP stuff, have they released any tapes or DVDs yet?
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 The one that I have is Redemption and that was from March of 03. The fed has gone terribly down hill recently, but three years ago it was the best. Derek Wild, Cody Steele, Lazarus, Jace Fury, The Hacker, "Showtime" Eric Young (TNA), Sinn (TNA) JT Playa...the list goes on. That was some great times. Red Baron 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 At their best? they just drew over 1000 FANS!! :-/ I don't know how that isn't good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wrestling wise it was their best. The last show I attended was August of last year, and I was quite disappointed. There were so many botch spots and it wasn't crisp. Maybe I should check them out this year when i get time. The last show I attended was August of last year, and I was quite disappointed. There were so many botch spots and it wasn't crisp. Maybe I should check them out this year when i get time. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only real botched spots on this show were a DDT in the opener (and I think Gomez is new, so ill cut him some slack), the girls stuff wasn't exactly perfect, but it wasnt horrible.. and one or two, wierd looking moves in the TLC match, but that wasn't their fault, as the ladders were probably the worst ladders Ive ever seen. And they still made the moves look believable, and with those ladders, you'd be suprised. They are starting their DVDs for each show on sale now, so check some of that out. And they are also putting out a "BEST OF NEO" DVD, containting 6 of their more memorable matches, including the Dangerboy/Showtime ladder match.
