Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Who here uses Soulseek? It was just recommended to me by a friend and I was considering DL'n it. He said for just pure music it's much better than Kazaa and you don't get the annoying fuck ups on song titles and half songs or looped songs that kazaa often produces. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 It's mainly for people that want whole albums, since you search for a song and the whole list of tracks from the album pops up from the user who has the song, all in order and such. Obviously you can just d/l whichever specific song you want. It's pretty good in that it has a lot of independant stuff you won't normally find on bigger search engines like Ares and Kazaa. Obviously the fact that you have a whole album conveniently placed there for you is nice too. The d/l are slower though, so that's one negative. I use it if I want an album since I just start d/l at night or something and check in the morning.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 Yeah well I just DL'd the Dropkick Murphys "The Warriors Code" CD and everytime I tried to burn it it'd get to about the 12th song and then say an error has occured and shut the program down. What's up with that? Is it just a bad download?
Guest NewYorkFox Report post Posted June 27, 2005 The thing I love about soulseek is that with a 60 gig ipod, I just download peoples "my music" folders and end up with peoples random shit that I'd never here any other way.
Guest Lawlerm Report post Posted June 28, 2005 I don't find it anywhere near as good as it used to be for some reason. They had server problems and stuff a few months ago so I don't know if maybe that stopped a lot of people using it and limited the results.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted June 28, 2005 It's good. The search use to be totally useless and you had to go in to chatrooms and look through each person's stuff. Now they have a 'search within chatroom' feature and it's great. One thing to be wary of though is if you go on there have all your stuff organized perfectly because their are alot of ppl on there who will ban you from downloading from them without warning if they look at your stuff and see just a folder full of random mp3s.
