James Caldwell added to Torch staff

NEW STAFFER ANNOUNCEMENT

 

I'm pleased to announce today that James Caldwell, whose writing you are probably familiar with from his weekly Sunday Brunch column for the Lounge and his TNA Impact reports here at PWTorch.com, is officially joining the Torch staff tomorrow.

 

As part of his "initiation," and as a way to make a splash here at the Torch right off the bat, he will be embarking on a "31 Days of Caldwell" writing challenge. He will be writing Caldwell's Takes every day in the month of July beginning tomorrow.

Caldwell has been helping behind the scenes in various ways with the Torch Newsletter in recent months, including helping to draft TV summaries and news recaps and contributing editorially to post-show text VIP Roundtables. He will now become a permanent fixture in the post-Raw, post-Smackdown, and post-PPV Roundtables for the Torch VIP Email Express service. He has been one of our rotating guest contributors to VIP Roundtables this year.

 

Caldwell will also present a new weekly VIP Audio Update every Monday beginning July 4. He will join the VIP Audio Update weekly schedule along with fellow columnists Bruce Mitchell (Fridays), Pat McNeill (Saturdays), and James Guttman (Tuesdays). The Torch VIP Audio section features on average more than 20 new audio updates per month, probably closer to 25 or 30 from now on with the addition of Caldwell. As is the case with most Torch VIP Audio Updates, his Monday report will be a mix of news and commentary. (He's been active in making connections in recent months in the wrestling industry; for instance, earlier this week he had dinner with three WWE talents after WWE's Raw/Smackdown event in Anaheim, and regularly attends local indy events.) He attended the taping of the Ultimate Insiders DVD #2 with Matt & Jeff Hardy and has helped with production notes during the formatting phase of the DVD set.

 

He also will be doing a special weekly News & Analysis report for Torch VIP Email Express service.

 

I am confident James Caldwell will be a great addition to the Torch staff, adding to the weekly slate of regularly scheduled Takes at PWTorch.com and adding even more content to the Torch VIP membership area with his weekly VIP Audio Updates and VIP Email Express reports. He also will be contributing features directly to the Torch Newsletter on a regularly basis.

 

Check back tomorrow, July 1 for the first of his "31 Days of Caldwell" Takes, available to everyone. VIP members, be on the lookout for his first Caldwell Audio Update on Monday and the first VIP Email Express report on July 8.
