Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 13, 2002 If some of you guys already know this, then just ignore all of this, lol! The WWF has a "non-televised" event planned on Monday, March 25 at 7:30PM at the Wheeling Civic Center in Wheeling, West Virgina! This means, in my assumptions, that this is yet another "sign" of the split occuring right after WrestleMania, so I suppose it is safe to say that it is coming up soon! Now this isn't the only news... ...for the show that I mentioned above, the following WWF performers are scheduled to be there to compete... 1) Triple H 2) Chris Jericho 3) Rob Van Dam 4) DDP 5) Rikishi 6) Spike 7) Tazz 8) William Regal 9) Booker T 10) Christian 11) Hardy Boyz 12) Billy Gunn 13) Chuck Palumbo 14) Plus many more, over 20 Superstars to perform. ...now, if this is a "prediction" as to which stars are in which group, well, only time will tell that. If, in theory, these are some of the guys that will be in one of the "groups", we can take from it that this group will get the (soon to be) life Smackdown slot, while the other "group" gets the life RAW slot. Anyhow, it seems interesting enough! I just thought some of you guys would find it rather cool to know. (For your information, you can go to their main site at http://www.wheelingciviccenter.com and you can go straight to the WWF news which I posted the above from by going to http://www.wheelingciviccenter.com/latest%20news.htm) Sincerely, ...Downhome... Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 You notice the WWF never says "house show"? It's always "non-televised".
Guest nikjohns Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Could the "non-televised" be an error?
Guest JMac Report post Posted February 13, 2002 No I'm pretty sure Raw is elsewhere that night I just forget where right now.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I think on WWF.com they say "Don't forget to set your VCR so you won't miss Raw!"
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 If it is untelevised...why would the champion not be on RAW? Bith Jericho and HHH are on the list... I hope HHH and RVD don't end up on the same side.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 13, 2002 No I'm pretty sure Raw is elsewhere that night I just forget where right now. You are exactly right! Their stating that it is a "non-televised" event is indee true. The live RAW happening the very same night is at State College, Pennsylvania! The following Tuesday night is as follows, with one being a Live Smackdown taping, and the other one being a "non-televised" event... Tue 26 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Reading, Pennsylvania ...and then there are two more nights that same week where there are two shows going on in another place... Wed 27 Gainesville, Florida Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Thu 28 East Rutherford, New Jersey Jacksonville, Florida ...anyhow, the fact that this show that I innitially posted being a "non-televised" event isn't wrong, it is in fact just that. The talent listed however is another story, I wouldn't put too much faith in it, but you never know... ...it might just be a sign of things to possibly come. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 The talent list will probaby change unless somebody else becomes WWF champ at WM X-8.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 13, 2002 The talent list will probaby change unless somebody else becomes WWF champ at WM X-8. Yes, that is possible, but am I mistaken in thinking that there will be a "World Champ" for each group? HHH or Jericho could have one title, while the other one is in the other group, whomever that may be (more than likely Hogan or Austin). It all really depends on how they do the split, and where they go with it, and THAT is something we have no true way to predict how it will happen, lol. Guest Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Why would any one go to this show when Raw is on?????? That won't work kid.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 If it gets HHH off my tv...I'm all for it. But why take RVD away from me? Bah
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Anyways, that split would work so one crew works Friday through Monday and the other works Thursday through Sunday.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 From what I've seen...they are going to keep one champion who will float back and forth.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 13, 2002 If it gets HHH off my tv...I'm all for it. But why take RVD away from me? Bah Exactly! They are going to put guys that many people love in each "group" so everyone will still have to watch every show! :-)
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 BAH! Split all of the ECW guys off and restart ECW. With the WWF promotional power and the fact that virtually all of the old ECW guys have gotten more national exposure... Splitting off ECW could be a cheap yet profitable venture. Before all the "ECW folded, fool: posts start...let's remember that they didn't have the WWF backing them. Small arenas...small cost...RVD has big star power. And that's what I want. Guest Downhome Report post Posted February 13, 2002 From what I've seen...they are going to keep one champion who will float back and forth. Oh wow, I don't like the sound of that. I wish they would have a "World Champ" for each group, and then have an overall champion that goes back and forth to each group. I think like that idea better than simply having ONE World Champ going back and forth.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 That was the only part of the split I liked.

Hell, I'd RATHER them do this! Keep WWF intact, and have ECW be formed to raise to glory once again! But PLEASE keep the WWF "creative team" (and I use that term HIGHLY lightly), away from the ECW product! Let Paul Heyman have control over it and let him run wild. I wish the suits shared your thinking. :-)
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 13, 2002 "And that's what I want." We both win. You get ECW back, and I get the ECW guys that I hate out of the WWF.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Vince would need to buy the ECW trademark before even considering running it as another company. Hell, just use the WCW name since he already owns.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 13, 2002 It don't think bps21 intends for it to be called ECW, just that it would be like the old ECW.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I'd like to see them pay off Paul's debt. If the Invasion angle taught us anything it is that WCW will not sell...but ECW is over as hell
Guest Badd Company Report post Posted February 13, 2002 Man, why must they put HHH and Jericho in the same pseudo-promotion? Looks to me IF that lineup is legit, that HHH gets to have his own half of the WWF to run roughshod over. I still hope for a real life HHH/Steph break-up, so this will not happen. Oh well, I still continue to hope that the nWo guys will give the keepers of the glass ceiling a taste of their own medicine...the product will suck, but the karma will be worth it....2 groups of men who forever refuse to pass the torch (excluding Rock) in a battle of egos. Should be interesting.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I wouldn't mind see ECW become a real company again. It would take a lot to get it off the ground, but it could work.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 13, 2002 The problem w/ bringing back ECW is that it won't be ECW. It will be a way toned down WWF-ified version which won't appeal to the ECW die-hards. Plus, most the ECW guys would be recognized more as WWF guys at this point, which was the problem w/ the WCW faction during the Invasion (Austin, Test, Angle). Most of the talented ECW performers are already in the WWF (w/ the exception of a few), so I doubt you would have enough to stock an entire federation. Guest The Vanilla Midget Report post Posted February 13, 2002 also, while an ecw reformation might be a total wet dream for smarks, the only exposure most marks have to ecw was the invasion, and we all know how that went over. also, spiff is right in that it would be too wwf-ised, without all the angst and rebellion which made the original ecw so great. finally, the split needs to have wwf on it, or else people will tune out, the monday night wars taught us to hate everything which wasnt wwf, and now we are expected to like it?? it doesnt add up. Guest Tony149 Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I think fans would watch a show with the WCW or ECW name. TNN balked at airing WCW because they didn't have their "stars". To make ECW look like they used to...send them into a Bingo Hall.
Guest The Masked Yodeler Report post Posted February 13, 2002 I say call the new promotion UWF, and fufill the old wrestling rule that every other promotion is called the UWF.
