Dream home locations?

Recommended Posts

Honestly, maybe it's just me being homesick, but I've traveled a fair amount and I really can't call anywhere but SoCal home. I'd probably like to have a nice, comfortable house near L.A., and close to the beach.. Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Ventura, even up towards Santa Barbara wouldn't be too bad at all.

I wouldn't reccommend Ventura, despite its nice looks. (I live about 15 mins from there in the Hueneme Beach Area). And santa barbabra from best I can tell is filled with zombie like posers. lol as is ventura. (its got a lot of white trash IMO)

For me, here in Cali I would say Thousand Oaks, CA cuz its nice and quiet and pretty much safe (despite the rich people). But its real hot so maybe not

Though I do like living here in the beach area cuz its not that hot and often rather cool (and cold at night)Or perhaps the bay area up north

If I could ,I would move back to NY but upstate so I could be away from the ghetto areas but close enough to my family and roots. (actually I am likely moving back to my old area shortly but I wish I could move to a nicer part) Or maybe a penthouse or loft in Manhattan so I could be like JBl lmao

Hey how about living in Stamford, CT next to Vince? That would be quite humorous. Imagine the block parties lol

I've stayed up in Ventura and Santa Barbara dozens of times, and I love it. Port Hueneme is far south along PCH from what I recall, then there's Oxnard and finally Ventura... and yeah Oxnard is pretty much shite, so I'm not surprised if you don't like it in the Hueneme beach area, but I absolutely adore Ventura. I lived in Santa Clarita (where Six Flags Magic Mountain is), and I took this highway that went through Fillmore, Santa Paula, and endless orange groves until you finally hit PCH/Ventura simultaneously, and I usually got off at like the first or second exit from getting on US-1, and I love that whole area. It's great.

My ex lived in the Thousand Oaks/Oak Park/Simi Valley area, and while it's nice and EXTREMELY safe (not as expensive as you'd think), it's pretty boring and kind of seperated from the rest of LA (not that Ventura isn't obviously, but it's just down PCH or the 101 to hit up the city). Not a big fan of living in NoCal, but it's nice to visit, particularly if you have friends up there already. One of my best friends from high school lives in Goleta and goes to UCSB, trust me, Santa Barbara is VERY nice and beautiful, but expensive to live in.

Yea oxnard is basically right next to us, as PH isnt too big an dthere are no city boundaries so like one side of the street may be PH and the other Oxnard. We are basically a beach and Naval Base city. Ventura I like the place, I guess I wouldnt really mind living there but I dont find it too great. I think its the people that get to me. Otherwise it is a nice city with lots of shopping areas and fun places to go. The mall is cool, but far too expensive for my tastes. Esepcially for my electronics/home entertainment needs. All they got is Sam Goody and Suncoast which is very expensive I like where I am right now though. I can get to ventura pretty quicky too as mentioned.

T.O. is pretty boring I agree. The only reason I said that was cuz of it safety (though bad crimes do happen sometimes) and quietness, but being a big city boy, I now think I wouldnt really like living there. I'm happier in the big city/ghettos environment.

But the beach area is very interesting. I still can't belive I live here even after 11 years, considering where I came from (the old ghetto areas of Yonkers, NY though it is much worse now then it was when I was a kid there)

VX, Magic Mountain is in Valencia.

Yes, I'm quite aware of that. Valencia is part of the overall city of Santa Clarita, along with Newhall, Canyon Country, Saugus, and to a certain extent, Castaic. I actually graduated from Valencia High School, which sat on a hill high enough that I could see the red tower thing and a couple of the rollercoasters from the football field. If you're familiar with that area at all, I lived right off of McBean Parkway, which is two exits before Magic Mountain Parkway going north on I-5. And of the 16-17 different homes I've lived in in my nearly 22 years of living, I stayed the longest (6 years) in one in Valencia.

Anywhere with lots of golf and beaches. I am truly enfatuated with the Cayman Islands. Never been there but it seems cool. Maybe a house that would be on Pebble Beach Golf Course.
