NoCalMike Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 So here is the scenario. I have an HD TV, and an HD DVD Player, now I also have a surround sound system, but it is one of those Surround Sound players that also is a DVD player. Problem is, since I already have a DVD PLAYER, I don't need to use it as a DVD Player, I only want to use it for the 6.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound. My problem is how do I hook this shit up. The DVD player has an open Component slot and so does the Receiver so that might be the way to go, but I need some advice.....here are the products I have........... (Currently the only connection is the TV to DVD Player via HDMI, so everything else is free) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099393829210 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099392227847 I was also wondering if I could be using the Brown connection wire which I believe is a Digital line, Co-ax or something. Help Me Out Guys.
eiker_ir Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 i think the receiver/DVD has a Coaxial input, so try with a coaxial cable from the Toshiba to the Insignia and the audio should work. The video can go straight to the TV

eiker_ir Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 i think so, its kind of yellow/orange-ish in my DVD and receiver
