The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Flair LOOKS WORSE than Hogan in the ring <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. Hogan's barely able to work 3 minutes of a tag match while Flair had a very good match with Angle three weeks ago. Flair took some vicious bumps in that match, while on the same night, Hogan was finally able to do a legdrop. While I agree that both should stop wrestling soon, Hogan is no way in better condition than Ric Flair.

Flair has to bump like crazy to sell a match and when he does, he looks awful-watch the Flair-Angle match again and watch how many times Angle had to change a manuever because he thought Flair was unable to take the move-for example, the top rope-flair couldn't even climb the ropes, and fell-Angle thought Flair was done, and he tried to end the match prematurely with the Angle slam.. Hogan Physically looks in much better shape than Flair, his Body still looks like a guy in his 30's-Flair really looks his age. Hogan is still much bigger than most guys on the roster and fans still can buy him winning any given match.. BY the way, Which Bockwinkel match had 20,000 in attendance in 1983-1984? Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Um...have any of you actually looked at Flair lately? I'm sure none of us can hope to look anywhere near as good as he does at 55. He's till pretty toned and muscular. Yeah, he has the sagginess in the chest, but big deal, it happens with age. The guy can still bump and work a good match...much more than can be said for Hogan, who looks like he can't even leave his feet at this point.
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 I don't see Hogan taking back body drops onto the floor and stuff like that, or getting onto the top rope and taking a bump. He can't even do a Leg Drop properly!
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 whenever they meet, Triple H will somehow be the face...Ric Flair will be with some new heel protege'...it'll be a retirement match...they'll book the match tomake it look like it could go either way...HHH will win and they'll do the mutual respect/handshake/hug thing afterwards...at that point, Flair's protege' will attack both guys, setting up a fued between himself and HHH...I don't like it, but I can see that happening... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Flair's protege = search your heart, you know it to be true..... The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Hogan looks better than Flair in the ring becuae, what he has to do to sell a match is much less than what flair does.. That is true. Hogan does a legdrop, a comeback and some posing. Flair wrestles (not so well anymore, but hey). It's been like that since the mid 1970's. During that time, Hogan's in-ring career has not at all looked better than Ric Flair's career. The fans have responded to it more, but that doesn't effect the work in the ring. You can't blame that on Flair. Angle was being a tool and refused to let Flair reposition his feet correctly to take the bump. Flair slipped, which would have happened to most guys in that position, and then did a nasty Flair Flop to the floor. Flair doesn't look awful when he sells. Hell, he does almost the same routine in every match, so he pretty much perfects it. Hogan Physically looks in much better shape than Flair, his Body still looks like a guy in his 30's-Flair really looks his age. Yeah, Flair should be taking steroids too. Hogan is still much bigger than most guys on the roster and fans still can buy him winning any given match.. Flair never wins matches so it's not like there's any sense of disbelief. I understand what you're getting at in support of Hogan, but I can't put his current work above Ric Flair's current work.

I would rather see Flair any day than watching him squander what matches he has left in him by being HHH's lackey- The Flair-HBK house show matches were good, and Flair did a good job of going for about 12-15 minutes with HBK.. I think both Hogan and Flair at their ages tell a better story in the ring and create more buzz in a match than 99% of WWE's roster right now-THats why they are the greatest, because they still entertain and execute a wrestling story in the ring.. But, I still don't want to see HHH and Flair in a match... No more HHH getting his ego fed...

Guest jm29195 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Nah. That Flair/Angle match is an exception because it covers up Flair's weakness that is his offense because it allowed him to use his cheating instead. Hogan's not great either, but at least he busts out some good offensive moves once and a while (his match vs Rock at WMX8 stands out). You'll have to excuse but what good offensive moves did Hogan use at WM 18 that he hasn't used in nearly every Hulk match for ages.... the only ones I an think of were a sloppy abdominal stretch into a roll-up and a dodgy chokeslam..... Flair on the other hand took a belly to belly overhead, and a normal suplex on the outside, aswell as busting out a shinbreaker, and all that classic cheating stuff..... iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I actually do miss HHH. Having just teased a feud with Flair though, I don't see how they could possibly try to do it again right now. Right now, the best use for HHH would probably be to feud with Kurt Angle in a feud that would turn Angle face. The fact is that there just aren't enough viable faces on Raw right now, and Angle/Michaels III would be a good title feud around Survivor Series time after HBK beats Cena at Unforgiven. Gert T 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 I agree JMA, they have done so many false turns between the two of them for me to really care about the storyline, if it was at WM though it would probably get a good nostalgic pop.
