spiny norman 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 And on Strangler's Gaelic influence influence, here's some Pogues recommendations: "The Band Played Waltzing Matilda" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know what it is, as I love The Pogues and especially love that album, but I really do not like that song. A real let down of a final track off such a great album.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2005 I never knew you were a Co&Ca listener. Picking up the new album when it comes out? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yessir, I'll be getting "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Volume 1. From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness". Anorak 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I love The Pogues version of Matilda. I always thought they made that song their own and McGowan performed it flawlessly. As somebody mentioned Elephant 6 'indie pop collective thingy' i'll recommend the last Ladybug Transistor album. One of the better albums of it's kind the past couple of years. Not quite song for song great as say, Chutes Too Narrow or a couple of others but still pretty nifty.
CheesalaIsGood 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 I don't know if anyone will agree with me, but CKY is pretty good. Their new CD was worth the 5.99$ that I paid for it. Good songs: - Suddenly Tragic - Plastic Plan - Human Drive in Hi-Fi - Shock and Terror - Don't Hold Your Breath <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wholeheartedly agree with this. CKY are an excellent band, and their latest CD is my favorite release of this year by far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree that CKY is a great band but this new disc just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it'll grow on me.
