Weird problems with Windows Media Player

I reformatted my PC a few months ago. Before that, when I played videos (WMV embeds) online, they played properly. They would buffer, and then play it.

 

After the reformat, it stopped playing the WMV Embeds properly! It didn't bother me at first, but it's slowly bothering me, and I need it to view this video that I edited online.

 

Here is a pic of how ANY WMV embed appear on Internet Explorer.

Is it just IE? Cuz mine look like that sometimes in mozilla. Only if I scroll or adjust the volume on it, the picture disappears. If you can download it and play it in something, thats the best way around it. There may be a wmv plugin for IE that you can update or a codec perhaps.
