Guest Human Fly Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 It sure would be a step up for Bret from that behemoth Julie though.
Guest papacita Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 I don't see how everybody can say that the phantom title win hurts RVD. If anything, I think the WWE went out of their way to make him look good (i.e., announcing it as a double title change [which is some of the dumbest logic ever if you ask me], and having Flair come in to do the reversal rather than a simple referee [makes it seem screwy, seeing how they just built a whole storyline on Flair failing to see Austin's foot on the rope]). In fact, if you could make an argument that anyone was weakened by that whole thing, it would be Taker, and that in itself is a pretty weak argument. The only way that this thing can hurt RVD is if they don't follow up on it.
Guest goodhelmet Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 I don't think the change hurts RVD as much as it hurts the WWE. No one wants or thinks Taker should be champion right now. They are losing teen viewers by the thousands right now and it would have been the perfect opportunity to have a YOUNG champion and attempt to win some of the younger viewers back. Hell, Taker is injured anyways. Fuck it, on RAW next Monday, you have Taker drop the belt to RVD and see where the ratings go. I certainly don't think he would hurt the ratings anymore than Taker and Hogan have.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted May 23, 2002 Report Posted May 23, 2002 that was indeed a canadian model and it was just a photo shoot.
