SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?

I'm just about finished with a comp. of SNME action, ranging from all 31 episodes. I didn't put any promos, just complete matches. I have 2 matches left to locate and add to the DVDs.

#30 - WWF Champion Ric Flair & The Undertaker Vs. Hulk Hogan & Sid Justice

Some were thrown in for nostalgia (#30, #3 for instance), but stuff like a Bundy/Hogan rematch, IMO, isn't historic.

 

Covered all the title changes, too, which just happened to fall in good matches.

 

And I'm a battle royal mark, so I got both of them in there, wins by Hercules and Perfect, respectively. HOGAN ELIMINATED TWICE, OMG. Haha.

 

My question:

 

Any matches you feel I should include before burning this thing? Or I guess, what matches do you feel were dissed and are part of SNME's Best Matches?

Well, not looking to sell it...but would easily trade for some stuff, as I think that's legal.

 

But I wanted this thread to actually be about What SNME memories you think would deserve to go on a BEST OF COMP? (that weren't already included)

 

Keep in mind, stuff like Andre/Hogan title change and MegaPowers breakup occured on NBC's "Main Event", not SNME.

I take it these are good matches then? I'm just curious becuase I picked up an old tape last week and it has these two matches on it. I've been looking forward to them and was wondering how good they were.

Is #29 the battle royale that Curt Hennig won? That was a pretty good 'royale' match, IIRC.

The Ted DiBiase Vs. Blue Blazer match is an interesting extended squash that goes 3:58.

 

Highlights include:

 

- Blazer does his trademark backflip off the top rope into the ring...only to be LEVELED by "no-nonsense" DiBiase's clothesline.

- Blazer flipping over DiBiase's back during an attempted back body drop at 100 MPH, and hitting a dropkick.

- Blazer follows that up with a pretty unheard of (back then) running cross body through the top/middle ropes to DiBiase on the floor.

- DiBiase catches Blazer's attempted leapfrog with the trademark DiBiase powerslam.

 

It was short and sweet and both workers rock, so I wanted it.

#29 is indeed the 1991 battle royal that Mr. Perfect won. I remember as a young mark being happy to read that Hogan had been eliminated when reading the review in WWF Magazine.

I totally forgot a couple gems from I have, and one I just found.

 

Jake Vs. Savage, complete with Jake's attempted beheading of Liz backstage with a chair, and Taker's subsequent face turn.

 

Neidhart Vs. Savage, complete with pre-match promos from both, and Zeus pummeling Hogan before the Bossman cage match as Ventura smiles inside.

That's a pretty terrific match listing. Specially fond for me are those Rockers vs Brainbuster matches, HBK vs Bulldog IC Title match, and the Sid/Hogan vs Taker/Flair tag match, which I think is a forgotten gem, if not for the actual workrate but for the people involved and the angle that ensued.

 

Sorry to say I don't have the means to copy stuff at the time, as I do have a nice collection and would really love to have your comp.

I just watched #29, and I was a big fan of that Royal and the Bret-Ted match.

 

 

I would DEFINATLY be interested in a trade of sorts, as those Tag macthes look like Gold to me.

Looks like a helluva lineup. If I could add one match to the list it would be the Bulldogs/Dream Team 2/3 Falls match from #7. Also the 6-Man opener from the inaugural episode may be a good one to add on for historic purposes. But I'm just nit-picking.

I'd add the Hogan/Bad News Brown match from just before WMV, just for nostalgia purposes. I'd probably also throw in the British Bulldogs/Dream Team match and the Hogan/Muraco match from just before WM2.

I just watched the last SNME and really liked Money Inc vs Warrior/Savage.

That match never happened on a SNME.

 

I can't really ever occur that match happening. The cloest would be Warrior/Savage Vs. Nasty Boys on the Road to Summerslam (or some such named USA Broadcast in late August 1992).

cool, brain freeze I guess as I can't remember it.

 

Interesting the hyped Savage/Warrior teaming on primetime national TV and then had that fiasco. It was '92 though, I'm sure the buyrate sucked anyway.
