Silence Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I'm in the process of downloading a .rar extension file and I was wondering what program/media player I should use to view them properly? RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, etc.? I have the first two already installed, but I'm not sure if either one of those support .rar files yet.
the max Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 WinRAR. http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?t....x=0&search.y=0
CanadianChris Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 Power Archiver works as well. It'll work on any type of compressed files (.ZIP, .RAR, etc.).
Silence Posted September 7, 2005 Author Report Posted September 7, 2005 Is there a way to get either WinRAR or Power Archiver for free instead of being stuck with a 40-day trial version of WinRAR that I'd have to buy eventually to keep using it?
CanadianChris Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 I don't know if they've fixed it, but when I got it, you could download Power Archiver without ever having to pay for it. It would tell you your version has expired, but then let you use it after a 5-second delay.
