Horror Movie update.

Recommended Posts

This is for three movies debuting on Sci-Fi.

First is "The Man With the Screaming Brain". This one is actually worth checking out. Why? Because it was co-writen by, stars, and was directred by....Bruce Campbell. That's right, it's his directorial debut. Here's the Sci-Fi Channel site here, complete with brief trailer.

Also, Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5 won;t be released theatrically after all. Instead, they'll both debut on Sci-Fi on Oct. 15th. More info here

Apparently, The Man with the Screaming Brain has been sorta in the works since right around the time Evil Dead II was made, because Bruce and some of his friends were kicking around the idea of a man with half a brain of a capitalist American, and the other half of a communist Russian, and he'd try to balance everything out. Their way of talking about how communism and capitalism were starting to come together towards the end of the Cold War, or something.

And the ROTLD sequels better be at least watchable and not COMPLETELY edited to shit on Sci-Fi.

Rumors are flying off the handle, that the Horror Channel is finally launching in the middle of October. The Only major provider at Launch is Dish Network(which I have) apparently there were some Horror Channel execs at a convention and they were telling people this.

Don't worry about editing. Sci-Fi Channel is actually asking production companies as of late to use more blood and gore.

I knew there was no way the sequels would get released theatrically. Even opening in LA and NY would have been a stretch.

I'm really looking forward to seeing them. I've always loved zombie movies, and from the previews, I don't think they'll be the second comings of Houe of the Dead.

Yeah, they were at Horrorfind but they I wasn't there for the announcement about Dish Network.

This is great news, I just now wonder how much it'll be. I really am crossing my fingers that it is going to be like IFC and just be added to the package.

I actually met Bruce the other week at a screening for Screaming Brain. I didn't actually get to see the movie, since I was just there for the autograph signing of Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way, though.

And people unfamiliar with the series will be left wondering what ROTLD 4 and 5 have to do with ROTLD 3.

Or they'll just realize that horror sequels very rarely carry much over from the original aside from maybe the main villain(s). Since they'll be watching Day and ROTLD 3, they'll know this, so I don't even know why I brought it up.

Military barrel opening = Return of the Living Dead continuity.

I hope they didn't dump that element.
