Sony Recalls PS2 A-C Adaptors

Sony Computer Entertainment America has issued a worldwide recall of 3.6 million A-C adapters for the Playstation 2. The accessories were sold with its PS2 systems between October 2004 and August 2005.

 

Sony says it has received 38 reports in the U.S. of adapters overheating, 19 of which melted. There have also been two reports of minor burns and one report of a minor shock. The recall applies to some 843,000 systems in the U.S. alone. Sony will replace the A-C adaptors for free.
