Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 http://www.mp3.com/common/artists/245826/summary.html This song is one of my favorite opening tracks to an album ever. Plus it's a damn fine album to boot. I really like this video, too. It makes me like the song even more.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 This song is one of my favorite opening tracks to an album ever. Mine is probably "The Headmaster Ritual" off Meat is Murder or "Didja Get Any Onya?" from Weasels Ripped My Flesh. Just great ways to hit the ground running. Big Ol' Smitty 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 This song is one of my favorite opening tracks to an album ever. "The Headmaster Ritual" off Meat is Murder <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oooh good choice. I bought a Smiths t-shirt the other day. One of the very few band t-shirts I've ever bought. My Nine Inch Nails shirt from middle school still fits, though. However, it's now a muscle shirt rather than the baggy sumbitch it once was. You like solo Morrissey? I just copped a used "Your Arsenal" the other day. I was surprised to find it. I think I live "Viva Hate" better, though. I haven't heard "You Are the Quarry" yet.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2005 Solo Moz is hit or miss. Stephen Street et al do decent jobs along the way in writing his music (since Morrissey himself knows fuck-all about putting notes and chords together), but they're no Johnny Marr, and while the lyrics hold up well against the Smiths stuff, the music behind it is always just that, "the music behind it," and is either just derivative or uninspired. A full reunion is out of the question, what with Morrissey writing a song about how he's gonna kill Mike Joyce or something, but part of me is holding out for the almost-impossible Morrissey & Marr reunion. Apparently, they're at least on speaking terms now, which is better than it used to be.
