HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Alone, inside the massive halls of the Worlds most famous arena, Spike Jenkins sits inside of a locker room. Alone. Empty. He looks around at the walls, trying to remember what a locker room looks like. It is the first one he has been in since being kicked out of Revolution Zero. Ever since being kicked out the group for Scott Pretzler, everyone cast out Spike. The wrestlers, the crew. He was being punished for his actions in Revolution Zero. No one else had to go through this. Sean Davis didn’t get a chance. Spike Jenkins broke his ankle, taking him out of the SWF for good. Toxxic took a numerous amount of wrestlers out of action. Kibagami, Mike Van Siclen, and sadly, the list continues’ on. Spike thought he could do the same. The thing was, though, he felt remorse for it. Maybe cause Davis was his friend? Scott Pretzler and JJ Johnson are still major dicks. They act like they run this place. No one has told them that they can’t change in the locker room. No one has mocked them or even worse, ignored them. Then again, they weren’t in Revolution Zero that long. Maybe they just didn’t have enough time to have their souls taken from them and forced to repent for their sins. And then, there was Toxxic. The Straight Edge Sensation. Spike looks back into his past and thinks about the countless times Toxxic gave him pointers and tips. He used those pointers and tips and he won. It felt great. Maybe that is why he didn’t mind it when Toxxic told him to attack someone from behind. Hell, he even attacked Flesher from behind. Thinking about it now, Spike has to wonder, would he even be where he is today if Toxxic wasn’t around? And then he thinks, is it even a good thing that he is where he is today? But why is he here? Why is he inside Madison Square Garden, alone in a locker room, obviously put together for him by CC? To take out the man who took the Cruiserweight Title from him almost exactly one year ago and refused to give him a rematch? Instead, he had the title stripped from him, and at Genesis V, Spike lost in a triple threat ladder match for that title? No. This wasn’t about the Cruiserweight Title. Is it to get revenge on the man who withheld his suspension from him for over a day? Spike remembers going home to his house on Long Island the day after 13th Hour. Bruised and sore, he remembers checking his mail. Inside it, were the official forms from CC that stated his suspension. Spike thought about leaving the business. The same reason why Toxxic left. He was sick of going out and trying to hurt people. Jenkins remembers the hatred he had for Toxxic and nearly killed him in their Last Man Standing match. He wanted to end it and stay home, for good. Maybe start a family. And then, he saw the date. The date on the forms. The date his suspension was supposed to start. June 11th, 2005. The day before 13th Hour. He was suppose to be home, suspended from action the night of 13th Hour. The Last Man Standing match with Toxxic never should have happened. He remembers trying to kill Toxxic. He hated that feeling…and if he was suspended the day before, he never would have had to go through that. But why? Why did they withhold the information? The obvious answer. They didn’t think Spike would make it through that match. Much like the rest of the roster, CC didn’t want him around. They wanted Toxxic to take him out for good. To make sure he would never come back. They must have been surprised when Spike came out the victor in that match. He did everything in his power to keep Toxxic down for the ten count. He was the winner…until he reached the backstage area. Waiting for him, Tom Flesher had his pink slip. He was out of there for 30 days. In reality, it ended up being 29. He came back a day early, on the July 11th edition of Smarkdown, attacking Scott Pretzler and Toxxic with a chair. But he really wasn’t a day early. According to his suspension forms, he was right on time. That is why Spike Jenkins declared war on Creative Control. He attacked officials, broke every rule possible, especially those on Family Friendly Lockdown. But somehow, he brought in big ratings for the SWF. He was a rebel. He was out to defy the system. He was Matt Hardy…or not. Because of this, CC went after Spike. They forced him to sit down and listen to the truth. It was Tom Flesher who withheld the information of his suspension. Not CC. Tom Flesher is the one who sent him out to be hurt and when that didn’t happen, Tom Flesher was the one who gave him his pink slip. So why is here? Why is he in Madison Square Garden tonight? =============================================== Spike looks up from his glaze at the floor to stare at Joseph Peters, Family Friendly Lockdown commissioner and member of Creative Control. He must of came in when Spike wasn’t paying attention. “How are you feeling, Spike?” asks the curious commissioner. “Nervous.” “Nervous? We can’t have that? What’s up?” “I’m not sure if I want to do this,” Spike says with caution, “I don’t know if I can.” “…What do you mean?” “I’m not sure if I can beat Taamo.” A worried expression comes over Peters’ face, “Why do you say that?” “Well…” chuckles Spike, “When it comes to the major events, I’m somewhat of a choker.” “You think you’re going to choke?” “Well, I always choke when it comes to big matches…and…this is a big match!” “Listen, Spike…” says Peters, “You aren’t going to choke. Did you choke when you won the Cruiserweight title from Austin Sly?” “I choked when I lost the title to Flesher…” “How about when you won the Tag Team Titles last year at Genesis?” “I choked in the Triple Threat Ladder Match for the Cruiserweight Title…” “How about when you beat Mak Francis early this year for the Number One Contendership?” “I lost to him two times in a row and lost that contendership…” “What about when you beat Toxxic?” Spike grimaces, “That was different…Toxxic wasn’t in the right frame of mind…neither was I…” “Listen, Spike,” says a now very-serious CC member, “I’m not going to stand here and let you talk yourself down like this. I don’t care what kind of frame of mind you are in tonight, got it? You will go out there and BEAT the HELL out of Tom Flesher! You understand me? You will make him leave this company!” Spike stares wide-eyed at the “Family Friendly” commissioner, “What…” “NO! You listen here, you little punk! This match isn’t about you! This match is about this company. Creative Control told you to do something and you damn well better do it! If you want your title shot that you keep saying you deserve, you will BEAT Tom Flesher! You will do anything it takes to win! Understand? If not…you better be looking for a new place of employment.” Peters storms out of the room as Jenkins stares at the door, bewildered at what just happened. ================================================== So why is here? Why is he in Madison Square Garden tonight? He is a pawn in their game.
Toxxic 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Easily, EASILY the best promo Spike has ever done. This WILL be marked and remembered to be nominated for next year's End-Of-Year Awards, because it is FUCKING AWESOME.
devo 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Agreed, fantastic promo. Adds a whole new dimension to the Flesher - Jenkins contest, which was already one of the most anticipated matches on the card. Very well done. However, if this is leading where I think it is, I'll be upset.
