LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Nah more than likely Lana will justify it by saying Buffy killed plenty of people so it's no big deal. Even though Lana just fried her in a pretty grusome death.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 This concept MIGHT have worked if they hadn't been traditional vampires. It's too coincidental (even for a show based on a comic) for kryptonite to turn humans into exactly the same thing as mythic vampires. If they didn't have canine teeth and instead ate the flesh of humans it would've been much better.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 So it was good she tried to drink his blood! Okay... Without the Brainiac/Lex interactions this episode would've been even worse.
Anakin Flair Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 'Slaying Buffy the Vampire' Oy vey....
SuperJerk Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 "Slaying Buffy the Vampire" "Up, up, and away." That's 5.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 "Slaying Buffy the Vampire" Oh my God...you're right other than the Brainiac/Lex stuff and getting Chloe in the Daily Planet this episode was a total throw away.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 "Slaying Buffy the Vampire" Oh my God...you're right other than the Brainiac/Lex stuff and getting Chloe in the Daily Planet this episode was a total throw away. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, at least it's over now. I'll overlook this bad episode because of Halloween.
Mole Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 WB told them to make a Halloween themed episode and they did. Whatever, why am I defending this show?
SuperJerk Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Lois in that preview almost beat Chloe's schoolgirl costume. Almost.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 So is Carrie Fisher going to be a recurring guest star because they didn't do much with her. And next week we all get the Lois the Stripper episode.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 WB told them to make a Halloween themed episode and they did. Whatever, why am I defending this show? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is actually the first bad episode of this season. At least we know it can't get any worse than what we just saw.
SuperJerk Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 I almost think that was self-parody.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Instead of this being a crappy vampire episode, the writers could've had Clark encounter Brainiac (in his true form) for the first time. Brainiac could've been killing people by stealing their cranial fluid (maybe to maintain his form), thus bringing him into conflict with Clark. At the end, Clark wouldn't even know that Fine was the creature behind the whole thing. It's been done in the comics, it would've advanced the overall story, and it has a Halloween feel.
EdwardKnoxII Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 When I heard the name of the head girl was Buffy I know this was going to be bad. But, I did love the Lex/Fine conflict. And Chole's school girl outfit. I suspect they'll find a way to use the killing to fuel some super Lana-guilt, leading to the inevitable Clark/Lana break-up #98734085. In a way I hope they do and don't. Don't because I hope they do stay together for a good while after all the getting together and breaking up they've done. But, I hope they do cause I rather Clark get with Chole more then Lana. Hell I've felt that way since the start of Season 2.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Yes Chloe's schoolgirl outfit and pigtails were the highlight of this episode.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Brainiac wouldn't want fluid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He's made of fluid, apparently. So it's possible he could need human cranial fluid to maintain his human form for an extended period. It's a good way to work something that was done a while back into a contemporary show. Hell, they could've had him killing people for any number of possible reasons.
Guest JMA Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 For anyone that's interested, Richard Donner is putting together a Special Edition of Superman II. Most of the sillier elements were put in by Richard Lester, while the more serious stuff was Richard Donner's work. I didn't think this information needed its own thread.
SuperJerk Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 In a way I hope they do and don't. EdwardKnoxII Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 Spoiler: Clark will end up with Lois. No, really. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So? Your point?
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 I'm surprised that the preview of next week's episode didn't mention that Tom Wopat will be guest starring.
EdwardKnoxII Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 I'm surprised that the preview of next week's episode didn't mention that Tom Wopat will be guest starring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And that they'll be in a Dodge Charger. Speaking of which have you notice in the last two eps that Clark's folks didn't show up at all.
SuperJerk Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 So? Your point? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You were acting like you didn't already know that, even though I knew you did.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 28, 2005 Report Posted October 28, 2005 Oh and if you thought this Halloween episode was bad, from the spoilers I've seen the Christmas themed one isn't going to be much better.
EdwardKnoxII Posted October 28, 2005 Author Report Posted October 28, 2005 So? Your point? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You were acting like you didn't already know that, even though I knew you did. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok but, just because Clark is going to end up with Lois doesn't mean between that time he can't date other girls.
SuperJerk Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Such as Lori Lemarus? *gets hopes up*
Youth N Asia Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 they're replaying it now, I'm taping and I'll chime in tomorrow with input
Vampiro69 Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Such as Lori Lemarus? *gets hopes up* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please god no, we had vampires this season, we don't need a mermaid.
Guest JMA Posted October 30, 2005 Report Posted October 30, 2005 Such as Lori Lemarus? *gets hopes up* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Please god no, we had vampires this season, we don't need a mermaid. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> She wouldn't have to be a mermaid, she could be like Aquaman. Plus, Clark Kent did meet Lori Lemaris in college.
