Yeah, I think defense isn't figured in at all in these rankings, because I would think the 30 errors Rentaria committed would push him further down the list.

Guest I miss Test.

None of these lists matter.

Put A-Rod at any position and he's #1.

And, you all hate him because he's uber-sexness. And, he's rich. Holla.

Ooh, burn!

I guess A-Rod isn't good enough to run into walls every year and break his shoulder.

Jeter does that, and he's a hero.

A-Rod is just smart.

He protects his perfect physique and model good looks.

If a shortstop is running into walls, he's doing something wrong

Shhhhh pipe down before ESPN hears you and starts playing that damn Jeter catch from last year again.

I have always heard that the core players were pitchers, catchers, shortstops and center-fielders. When they reached the minors, the catchers and shortstops with less defensive skill would convert to the corners. Some would even stay at their natural position as far as the majors, then be asked to switch (Biggio, Delgado).

Biggio actually went to the All-Star game as a catcher in 1991.

And that rating for Emil Brown is awfully high. I know these are based on this year, but there really should be some consideration of past performance.

Just out of curiosity, where would Roy Halladay have ranked if he had enough starts to make this list?

I plugged his numbers in and he would have come in at about #7. If he hadn't been hurt and kept at the same level the whole year he may have been as high as #3.
