El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 I know we've got a few Morrowind fans around here, and RPG fans in general should be excited about this one. First, there's a torrent with a 20-minute DVD promo floating around. It's not too hard to find. They've fixed all the problems Morrowind had: the clunky dialogue system is replaced by a much more streamlined Fallout-ish one, the combat is much less frustrating, and the quests are easier, thanks to your new (actually helpful) journal. Did I mention that any place you hear about, you'll be able to use your map to Fast Travel? No more taking hours to get anywhere, even though the game has something like sixteen square miles of land to explore. The graphics on this thing are just amazing. I'm not even sure my PC will be able to run it..I remember how low MW's specs were supposed to be, and how much it actually took to run. I'll get both eventually, but the 360 version, first. Now, only to wait that long..
Guest clockworkraven Report post Posted October 10, 2005 That promo video is what keeps me going. My PC will shit itself if it tries to keep up with any settings NEAR that, but it's good to dream. Fast Travel made me cry. Best news I've had about the game, because I'm getting sick of the console cell-switch way of moving. It should be interesting to see just how good the journal really is, though. I didn't mind the old one. I know that once I figure out how hard the main quests are, I'll just go around hunting deer and stealing books. Should be fun.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 10, 2005 I've never liked Morrowind before, but I'm all over this game.
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Whereas I adore and worship MW, and will die upon playing this game. I only hope that my poor PC will be able to support it. The changes sound pretty nice although, I didn't think that the quests were that hard to begin with. But, hey, as long as this comes with a TES Construction Set, I'll be happy. I love modding the game.

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Though Microsoft has not officially confirmed the entire launch lineup of games expected on day one of the Xbox 360's debut, two game publishers are publicly declaring their contributions. According to a report from Reuters, Take-Two Interactive and Activision have announced nine Xbox 360 games between them that will be on store shelves November 22, the day the console is released in the US. The rivalry between Take-Two and Electronic Arts in the sports market will continue in the next-generation, as Take-Two, parent company of the 2K Sports brand, is expecting to have NBA 2K6, NHL 2K6, Top Spin 2, and Amped 3 on the Xbox 360 opening bill. Away from the feats of cyberathletes, Take-Two expects to take on the role-playing world with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Activision is declaring a quartet of launch games for the 360, including a trio of sequels and an all-new IP. WWII shooter Call of Duty 2, first-person shooter Quake 4, and skater Tony Hawk's American Wasteland have all been pegged for day one release by the publisher. Activision believes Gun, an all-new Western-themed action game, will also mosey into stores November 22, according to Reuters. Microsoft has not officially announced any of these games as available for the launch of the Xbox 360. Adding these nine to the previous eight confirmed at X05 (Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo: Elements of Power, Perfect Dark Zero, Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06, FIFA 06, and Need for Speed Most Wanted) would bring the total to 17 games ready for launch. Given that Microsoft has repeatedly stated that 15-20 games will be ready for the console's debut, including all of these games would mean that other launch candidates may not be ready for day one, as previously thought. Games such as THQ's Saint's Row, Sega's Full Auto and Condemned: Origins, and Tecmo's Dead or Alive 4 would now be put on the bubble or pushed back to the second wave of games expected at the end of this year, or early 2006. According to David Reid, director of platform marketing for the Xbox, the remaining games for launch are still "in the final stages of certification" and will shortly be announced officially. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6135223.html They seem to expect it. I also just realized I have pre-purchased about 50% of the launch titles. Jesus.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Oblivion and Gun are my only two preorders for the 360. Can't afford any more.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 I never bother preordering games for launch. Games are always in available at launch. Systems...that's harder.

At least where I was, it was impossible to find a copy of Halo when the Xbox launched..
El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 New preview from IGN. More changes to the gameplay system. I particularly like the fact you can make poisons, then apply them to your weapons.

Guest clockworkraven Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Only 4 guilds? There better be other ones, like the Imperial Cult/Houses in Morrowind. At least they've done something with the arena idea.

At least they've done something with the arena idea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Six guilds/factions: The Arena, Blades, Dark Brotherhood, Fighters’ Guild, Mages’ Guild, Thieves’ Guild) They've said the guild quests will be much more involved than "fetch this" this time around., so there aren't as many to join. The Oblivion facts thread on the Elder Scrolls forums. A lot of good info.
