Desktop problem

Now, onto the question - for some reason my desktop has shifted to the left, so that the far left part of the desktop icons and the START menu aren't visible. Same thing when I go into a program. For instance, I'm in Mozilla Firefox now and I can only see the "e" in "File," and only about half of the "Go back one page" arrow. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance.

Check to see if your monitor's menu setting hasn't shifted to the left

See the buttons on your monitor that control the screen settings (brightness, contrast, etc.)?

 

Play around with those.
