Actually, there's a way to do it in Flash. Import the video and save the flash file as an animated GIF. You should be able to do this in the trial version - and, of course, a cracked version as well. ;p

Microsoft at one time put out a free gif animator that was super small in size. It was called Microsoft Gif Animator and is very small and very simple to use compared to newer software. Then only drawback, it was designed for Windows 95 and Windows NT4(?) but am positive it works with later Windows like 98 and 98SE. I'm not sure about others and XP I know will not run the program. I've made tons of banners, avatars and other things using it on 98 and 98SE.

 

Check it out and see if you can make use of it.
