Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 It's not like the Smackdown guys are taking it though. JBL has said many times on the show that Raw is a 2nd rate b-show. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Difference is, JBL is a heel and a shill character John Cena it would have been different. Hell Cena was the first "star" made on SmackDown! and he decided to go to RAW So that move prompeted the top heel Kurt Angle to jump as well to chase the belt
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 Cena didn't decide to go to Raw. Neither did Angle. They were both drafted.

Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2005 Starcade 97 for all the wrong reasons, as mentioned countless times by others in this thread. Second would be New Blood Rising, they had a chance with Lance Storm being huge but they used him so horribly in the match against Mike Awesome with Carl Oulette as the special referre. After the match they decide to have Bret Hart come out. Why not use Hart as the special ref since he was already there and the show was in Canada? Bash at the Beach 96 for reasons that the company started to do something correct.
JST 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Minor correction, Jacques Rougeau was the referee. Still doesn't make it any better, though.

Si82 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Was Russo even still around then? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. He made a brief apperance on the show when Goldberg walked out of the three way match with Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. Russo came out and told Goldberg to get back in the ring to which Goldberg told Russo, "Fuck you!".
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2005 Going back a bit, JBL is someone who has zero credibility with a lot of fans, so him saying Raw is a cut rate B grade show blurs in with his other garbage like being a wrestling God. The problem is that someone who could make a statement about Smackdown being good is Batista and he badmouthed the show himself about 6 months ago. The defining thing about Raw/SD is when have you ever seen anyone drafted to Smackdown that seemed GLAD to be there? They do angles like Booker being pissed at being sent to the shit SD brand, etc. The only guy I can think of who seemed at all happy was RVD, he cut a brief promo saying he was Mr. Thursday Night now and was stoked about being on Smackdown. No one else has ever shown any joy over being on SD.
