cameron chaos 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 There a rumour about the gimmick being a reference to a mentally handicapped kid that came to late 80s-90s shows who got backstage a couple of times and whenever he met the wrestlers he'd tried to do impressions of them. Was that squashed?

Silence 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2005 What exactly was the original Mankind character? I'd have to imagine he was far different from the socko sporting, lovable goofball Mankind? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The original Mankind character (up until the summer of 1998) was based on Hannibal Lecter from "Silence of the Lambs", which meant that Mankind would suddenly go crazy and attack anyone by using the Mandible Claw on them after acting calm for a while (Hannibal Lecter, however, would bite on his victims). The original Mankind loved pain as much as he loved dishing it out on his opponents. I hope that explained it.
