Most disappointing album

Recommended Posts

Guest Redhawk

You knew what day it was being released...you either bought it that day or very soon after...you couldn't wait to get home and play it...and it sucked ass.

What makes your list?

For me, one I can think of is Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's "Resurrection" album. There was one, maybe two songs worthy of hearing more than once. I always liked Bone, but this album really turned me off to them and I haven't felt the same about them since.

Another is Snoop Dogg's "The Game is to be Sold..." Snoop had kind of fallen off in the last few years with Death Row, but you figured he still had a "Doggystyle" left in him. And then he hooks up with the hottest (at the time) label in rap? You knew this album was gonna be dope. I was pumped for this album, and it was sorely lacking.

I feel ya'll anything after Snoop's "Doggystyle" album he just fell way off ever sense. Most disappointing albums for me are:

Bone Thugs: "Resurrection"  and "Art of War" was somewhat disappointing and the 2nd and 3rd Mo Thug family albums.

Biggie Smalls: "Born Again" Puff fucked up the whole album I doubt Big would do something with Cash Money it was a good song and all (I could be wrong though.) Big would do half a song then the guest appearence emcee finish the rest of the song.

Ruff Ryders: Vol. 3 Compilation, I had a bad feeling on this one and I shouldn't even bought it, I thought I was getting to hear some DMX(1 song appearence) , LOX (3 Song appearences), and Eve (1) but naw I get to hear Tryouts for bogus cats I aint even heard of.

Cam'Ron: His new joint is somewhat of a disappointment

Nelly: When I heard his 1st single "Country Grammar" I thought the song was hot and all then got to listen to the whole album at my job and was 2 wack.

Yo, I though Country Grammar was gonna be slammin too, but "Ride Wit Me" and all that shit made Nelly look like a fag. I threw that shit out of my car window when I bought it, yo!

I can't be the only one that laughed at Still Fly's last sentence, yo!

The last truly disappointing album was Slayer's God Hates Us All. Does it kick ass? Hell yes. But it's not really a Slayer album, just more like a nu-metal band trying to be Slayer. At least Kerry and Jeff still trade off solo's, though, which is a Slayer trademark.

lol, on the yo comment, and i agree with you on slayer

its still kick ass a step foward from undisputed attitude and divine intervention, but they haven't gotten their edge from reign in blood back like they said they did

Timebomb by Buckcherry

I thought these guys might be the closest thing we'll ever see to the next Guns N' Roses after their debut.  But Timbomb leaves me wondering if they'll be any good in the future at all.

Can't really think of a full album right off the top of my head, but i was pretty stoked when i heard GnR was gonna have a new song on the End Of Days soundtrack. I listened. And vomitted.

No Doubt: Rock Steady. I love Gwen's voice, and the first two albums were great. Rock Steady sounded like an ABBA album. Not that I've ever listened to ABBA.

Geddy Lee: My Favorite Headache. This just proved that Geddy needs Rush to do anything worthwhile. There's a couple of good tracks, but no much else.

Godsmack: Alive. WORST. ALBUM. EVER.

Sure they do.  Just watch "Airplane!".

EDIT:  My 666th post involves nothing but a sarcastic recommendation to watch "Airplane!"?  *sigh*  What a waste.

Silliness aside...

I'd say that Nas' "Nastradamus" was a huge disappointment. I rememeber picking it up the day it came out and playing when I got home. After 3 songs, I got pissed because the album was sucking some serious shit and I never even finished it. Thank God, he came back with Stillmatic...

Also, I concur with the Snoop Dogg bit. Everything after Doggystyle was fucking awful.

l think im the only one on here that actually likes Lateralus.

Green Day's last album was more Poppy but i still like it.

Slayer's last album isnt that bad and i really dig War Zone.

I'm still undecided on the new RUSH album Vapor Trials. Geddy's bass playing is as fierce as ever and Neil Peart's percussion work goes without saying... but I think something is missing. Guitar solos from Alex Lifeson are far and few between... but perhaps he will shine in concert this summer on the few VT tunes they might play.

I didn't quite catch Load when it first came out but when I first got interested in Metallica I bought the albums in chronilogical order and when I got to Load, I thought it was a load of shit.  And they never recovered.
