Storyline Idea for WWE

Recommended Posts

Hey, I know I don't post much but I remember RRR posting a storyline for WWE not too long ago that was pretty good. So I've been thinking about a storyline for a quite sometime thought I thought would be pretty good for the WWE now that would end up with 3 new main event stars (IMHO). Now I don't have as much detail as others in their storylines but what follows should be a pretty good indicator of what I've been thinking about. So here goes...

Chapter I: Death

We all know the Undertaker is nearing the end of his career. He decides he wants to train a disciple/apprentice. At Summerslam, an unknown wrestler in druid attire begins to shadow the Undertaker to his matches and behind the scenes. This druid will do nothing until Unforgiven, where he helps the Undertaker win a match against Lashley (anyone really). The following SD will concentrate on who the druid is, Undertaker will announce his name to be Death. Death, who is no longer in druid attire but in darkside wrestling gear, will be a totally new face (hoss-like). From then on Undertaker takes a step back in active wrestling and either only tags with Death (who is no longer in druid attire but in darkside wrestling gear) or accompanies him to the ring in a manager role.

By the Royal Rumble, Death will have started to show signs of being heel as opposed to Taker who will still be face. At the Royal Rumble, Death accidentally costs Taker the Rumble match. On the following SD, Undertaker would physically punish Death for costing him the match (wouldn't be the first time). Undertaker manages to get a shot at the Rumble winner at No Way Out. Death, once again costs Taker that match. However, before Taker can punish him, Death attacks him viciously and leaves him in a pool of blood. It's announced that at Wrestlemania it will be Death vs. Undertaker. The whole unbeaten streak will be brought up, Taker's legacy will be talked about blah blah blah. At Wrestlemania, Death beats Undertaker and sacrifices him a bloody mess.

Death speaks for the first time at Wrestlemania and declares he now holds Undertaker's legacy inside of him and talks about the Prophecy starting to come true. Death should show in this promo that he is a smart and crazy son of a bitch and multi-dimensional evil character.

Chapter II: New Ministry of Darkness

On the following 3 Smackdowns, Death abducts 4 wrestlers. For now wrestlers A, B, C and D. First Smackdown, he takes some newbie imposing hoss (A). Second smackdown he takes one decent worker (B) and on the 3rd Smackdown he takes another 2 wrestlers, one who is decent worker © and a good-great worker (D). Now before I continue, just some back story for B, C and D.

Wrestler B and C have been with company for sometime and have already made names for themselves but nothing great. While Death and Undertaker are doing their thing, Wrestler D debuts and comes off as a complete rookie who can be a bit clumsy trying to impress everyone but doesn't really work. He almost gets beat up by let's say the Mexicools or some other group and wrestlers B and C save him. Wrestler D, being a good hearted kinda guy decides to follow B and C around as a friend. B and C slowly take to him and finally accept him as a friend, even if he can be annoying. Now, on the Smackdown where C gets abducted and beaten D comes out for the save. Wrestler D comes out with fury and tears on his face trying to get Death to let go of his friend. Death has no intention of taking Wrestler D but decides to after wrestler D shows some potential and forces Death to put him down with his finisher.

Now, after this A, B, C and D aren't heard of until Judgment Day. The Smackdowns following the abductions, Death manages to get himself a title shot at Judgment Day (No DQ match). He faces off against the World Champion and almost loses but the abducted wrestlers return, with completely different looks, looking more sinister and decimate the Champion for Death as he laughs in approval. Death hits the Death Roll (finisher) and wins the title. Death gets on the mic and says the prophecy is coming together and to welcome the Ministry of Darkness.

On the following Smackdown, he reveals the Darkness names of the wrestlers. Wrestler A will be the Juggernaut, Wrestler B will be the Hammer, Wrestler C will be the Prowler and Wrestler D will be the Maniac. Hammer will be the enforcer of the group, B/C will be their tag team and D will be the IC contender after he gets over the rookie stigma after some kickass bouts with solid undercard workers to give him credibility.

Chapter III: Domination of Smackdown!

Now from now until about Summerslam the Ministry is dominant over SD. Death is the dominant champion, Maniac is in and out of the US title picture (having a reign or 2), Hammer and Prowler are the tag champions and Juggernaut is enforcing. Juggernaut accompanies Death at all times as a bodyguard. All characters are being established as staples of SD.

Chapter IV: Ministry Weakens

In the weeks leading up to Summerslam, Hammer and Prowler are acting strangely and a bit more lively but nothing too alarming. At Summerslam, they lose the tag titles and Death comes out with Juggernaut and Maniac and punishes them both in the ring for losing them. Maniac wins his grudge match bout against whomever he was feuding with leading up to Smackdown. In the Main Event, Death loses with the World title to whoever the challenger is because due to a distraction. Prowler and Hammer attack Juggernaut and do not allow him to help Death in his match.

Prowler and Hammer cut a promo on Smackdown saying they are no longer under the control of Death. They go back to using their original names but are on the run because the Ministry is gunning for them. In the next few weeks leading up to No Mercy, Prowler and Hammer interfere in the matches of Maniac telling him to snap out of it and to remember and things like that. A match is announced for No Mercy, Prowler/Hammer vs. Juggernaut/Maniac. The match goes to a no contest after Death interferes and begins the beating of Prowler/Hammer. Both are left in a bloody mess by the Ministry however, Maniac does not participate in the beating and just watches.

The following SD, Maniac reveals some concerns with the discharge of Prowler/Hammer to Death. Death says it’s nothing to worry about but later on in the night sends Juggernaut to take out Maniac. The next couple of weeks build to Survivor Series where Maniac takes on Juggernaut. Death watches the match with care from the stage until Maniac beats Juggernaut. Death laughs and walks into the back. Death loses the Elimination Chamber match later on in the night but leaves the ring laughing hysterically saying the prophecy is almost done.

Chapter V: The Jackal

On the following SD, Death challenges Maniac to a match at Armageddon. Maniac is still teetering between the darkside and good. Before the match even starts, a new face appears and destroys Maniac. New face has to be Lesnar-like in movement and his finisher has to be abusive like the F-5...let's make it Tiger Driver 91 for the story. Once again, Death is laughing is ass off as his new apprentice is over a bloody Maniac. On the following Smackdown, Death reveals this new apprentice as the Jackal. It's announced both Jackal and Death are going to be in the Rumble.

At the Royal Rumble, Maniac (now going under real name) makes his return but is good now with new attire and more mature look (no more clumsy rookie) and attacks the Jackal and costs him the Rumble. Maniac runs out after hitting a flurry of punches and stuff, looking into the camera and saying his ass is mine. However, Death manages to win the Rumble. In the coming weeks, Maniac stalks Jackal and Death. It is announced that it will be Jackal vs. Maniac at No Way Out. At No Way Out, Maniac loses by DQ after using a chair and then begins the back and forth brawl until Juggernaut comes out. Maniac runs out before Jug can make it.

On Smackdown, it is announced a rematch will take place between Maniac and Jackal. Before their match, on Wrestlemania night, Jackal and Juggernaut destroy Maniac and leave him a bloody mess before the match. Maniac can barely go and is destroyed by 3 Tiger Drivers and beaten. After the match, Jackal whips Juggernaut's ass and screams to him he is no longer needed. Later in the night Death wins the title again and keeping the new streak alive.

Chapter VI: Jackal vs. Maniac

In the weeks leading up to the Great American Bash, Jackal shows disrespect to Death but surprisingly, he doesn’t punish him like the others. At the Bash, Jackal costs Death the title and destroys him. He says he wants the championship and nothing is going to stop him. The following week on SD, Jackal is attacked by Hammer and Prowler who have finally made their return. The next week, Jackal is nervous and twitching not wanting to be attacked again. He demands that Prowler and Hammer come to the ring to face him. They enter the arena but stop at the stage as Jackal yells and screams. Maniac comes out from the crowd and attacks him from behind. On the next SD, GM sets up Maniac vs. Jackal III for Summerslam. At Summerslam, Maniac finally defeats Jackal in a kickass match.

Chapter VII: Death vs. Maniac

Fast forward to the Smackdown after No Mercy. There have been signs prior to No Mercy signaling the return of Death but this is where Death finally makes his return with a chilling promo saying Maniac is finally ready and that the prophecy is now complete from here on out it is all unknown. In the following weeks once again Death torments Maniac and destroys Hammer and Prowler. It is announced that Death will take on Maniac at the Survivor Series in a Hell in a Cell. At Survivor Series, Maniac defeats Death in a HiaC match...crazy brawl.

Death is left devastated and alone. Fast forwards a few weeks and Death makes a return and announces the return of the Jackal. Survivor Series left a sour taste in his mouth and that Maniac will get his but it is Jackal’s time to get the title and make the Ministry stronger.

Chapter VIII: Jackal vs. Maniac World title

At Armageddon, Jackal makes his return and at the Rumble takes the title. Maniac wins the Rumble while Prowler/Hammer takes out Death and take him out of the picture leaving the Jackal alone. Maniac faces Jackal at Wrestlemania in a 2/3 falls match and wins the title.

That’s as far as I’ve gotten so far.

What do ya’ll think?

I think, to start it all off, they need some one to keep hounding the Undertaker about this prophecy and how the end of the Undertaker will be the beginning of something greater. Have some Macbeth-style thing where the prophecy itself and Takers obsession with it leads to his downfall. Or have it be, "You will lose to a man in red", and have everyone think it's Kane, but it ends up being Death -and the red would be blood.

I haven't finished it though, cause I need some wrestlers to allign with the characters in the story. It's hard to visualize without some faces to the names.

Personally, I think it's easier to imagine it with real guys, because then it's plausible. With using the imagination, there is that sort of distance to the story. I mean, it's your story and all that jazz, and I love the idea of a student/teacher feud (just finished watching Star Wars Eps. III, Palpatine/Anakin/Jedi's would SO work in a wrestling format), but I think when you believe that it could happen, it becomes easier to read.

I like it, but it sounds too much like a cross between Raven's flock storyline and the original ministry of darkness storyline. Also, the undertaker abs. hated the original ministry of darkness angle, so I don't think that's how he would want to end his career. Also, it's a good angle that involves a lot of wrestlers, which is good (if the angle works). However, I think the names need work.

Hmm, I'm not too familiar with the Flock storyline but only because I started out watch WWF and didn't get into WCW until the end of 99. I do know a bit more of the Ministry storyline but that was so long ago so I can't remember that all off hand. The names I think should be changed but as of now I couldn't think of anyone better. I also thought about that, Undertaker's willingness to not only job on his way out but for that to be the catalyst of an angle. However, I think he could be convinced if that angle is pitched to him as the next super angle, which I think this could be with tweaking.

Guest Korgath

On any other normal day I would love this idea, but I feel that the WWE is no place for these HUGE gothic gimmicks any longer. That era has long past. Heck, even the era of the extended drawn out storyline has long past (the last BIG storylines that last over a series of several months being Jericho/Christian/Trish and Eddy/Rey - and we know how those went...).

That being said, if the original Ministry storyline is anything to go by... this won't have the long-term conseuqences I'd want.
