Guest JMA Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I've been having problems with trying to play a video file with Windows Media Player. I have Windows XP and the latest Windows Media Player. When I play the file I get a message saying "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem and needs to shut down." I know nothing is wrong with the file itself so I must be missing something. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Dimensions Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Try this codec pack out... www.xpcodecpack.com
Guest JMA Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Try this codec pack out... www.xpcodecpack.com <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Now everything works except for the picture. Thanks for the link, but do you know why there's no picture?
Guest Leelee Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Because WMP sucks. Download this, it will run anything: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Dimensions Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 Yeah, VLC player is awesome and so is WMPlayer Classic.
Guest JMA Posted November 4, 2005 Report Posted November 4, 2005 I downloaded the VLC player and the file finally works. I appreciate all the help (from both of you). Thanks a bunch.
