So I picked this up last week after hearing decent things about it (the need for a patch not withstanding). So far I haven't really gotten deep into playing, and am just messing with the tutorials because i've never played an RTS before. In the tutorials you play as the British, but I'm thinking the French are going to be my civilization of choice once I get into it all.

In fact, I may just go do that now. Any ideas/strategies would be helpful, as I am thinking I want to build a nice economy, befriend some injuns, and then work towards a nice army to go around destroying others with.

I'm severely addicted to Civ IV, which there's a thread about, but I'm too lazy to bump. I remember AoE being a really good game, but I didn't play II and I kind of don't like how your civ doesn't really advance much past a certain time period.

I, of course, would play as the Spanish and slaughter all the natives. Hmm, maybe I should warez this game.

I have it, downloaded the day it came out, pretty fun. I was a big time fan of AOE II and the expansion and that's like me and my friends game for sure haha. But this is fun and plays like Age of Mythology. I'm doing the campaigns so I haven't really gotten into civs but give it a chance and I'm sure you'll have addiction patches in time.

AoE II and the expansion were more than decent, so I'll give this a try.

Are there any games similar to AoE or Civilization for PS2? I had Civilization 2 for PSX put haven't found anything for the PS2.

Yeah, AoEII came out on PS2. Not a bad game, but it's easier with a mouse.
