When I was young, I rapidly learned to hate conservatives. They were bloated people of rigid minds who devoted their lives to earning money and owning things, and they had a little list of what was OK and they lashed out against anything that was not visibly on it. In fact, what bothered me the most was their categorical mindset. They had no flexibility of thought. You either taught Creationism, or you were a devil; never mind that evolution could be proof of the infinite genius of their God. You were either married, or a slut; you were either Christian, or a heathen. Not to imply that they should have seen middle ground - after all, that is in itself a complete fabrication in matters of ideals - but that they did not see the whole of the order of the universe. They had an invariant, one-size-fits-all outlook that was convenient for condemning others. It was like a sick little clubhouse.

 

Fast forward some years. I've now learned to hate liberals. They are not bad people, as conservatives aren't bad people, but they are misinformed. Even worse, they are motivated by emotion and not holistic thought, and their responses are as kneejerk as those of the conservatives. Either a certain belief is on their whitelist of accepted ideas, or they lash out against it. They cannot see how traditional lifestyles fulfil much of the liberal dream: local communities, ruled by leaders selected for wisdom and not (George W. Bush) popularity with the lowbrow crowd, and a furtherance of culture, justice, knowledge and art. In fact, liberals are willing more than anything else to destroy, even destroy all hope, so long as their one precious hot-button issue is preserved: revenge against those who have more than others through equalization and subsidization of the less-capable. They want to even humanity out into a race of clones, so that none are above others.......

No, it was written at about a high school level. It also makes use of silly hyperbole & sweeping generalizations. There's no way that article would have even made it past the editing process at a decent publication. The writer is also unbelievably arrogant & condescending. Examples:

No offense, but in my opinion people who just bitch and never offer any solutions suck. I've never seen you make very many coherent arguments on this forum.

 

Moderation is all well & good, but my political views are something that I have put a lot of thought into. I have developed some strong, but flexible, principles. So next time you make your "everybody sucks" comments, at least offer some rationale.

What is the problem with Indo-European society? Oh, don't bore me with your socially-acceptable excuses. The problem is too many lower quality people and, out of deference to them, we've given up on evolution. The Jews? The Christians? The Negroes? Fix your own house first, white man. If one hypothetical non-Underman handed a sword to each non-Underman he met, and they each did the same while slitting the throats of all Undermen - man, woman and child - that they encountered, the process would quickly reverse itself. Political objections can easily be neutralized by buying off the foppish and ineffective leaders, and murdering any businesspeople or news-entertainment media figures who intervene. Undermen act brave in crowds, but when the crowd's power is broken, they cower and run in disorganization. it will be easy to hunt them down and slaughter them. Their bodies will help nourish future forests.

 

Anyone who pursues money as a goal above all else is an Underman - THEY MUST DIE. Anyone who objects to this platform is an Underman - THEY MUST DIE. There is no room for moderation anymore, because liberals and conservatives have turned government and politicals into nothing more than a big game of RISK. Nothing is going to work until both sides stop acting like babies and actually sit down and talk like adults. Almost all the problems could be solved if people would stop thinking how big of a win it would be for the democrats or the republicans. Here's a novel concept, who fucking cares who the win goes to if the plan actually works.

 

I'm tired of seeing ideas that aren't stupid get dismissed because of what someone said three years ago or because they have a D or an R after their name. I don't care what letter you have because it's nothing more than a gamepiece. If you have beliefs, great and I'm sure they are perfect for you but they are your beliefs. They don't work for everyone and that is the whole problem with this stupid L vs C bullshit.

 

I've wanted for a long time for the letters to just be dropped. Make people stand on their own two feet and not receive votes just because they are democrat or republican. And 90% of the time, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference in the plans or ideas if you didn't have a letter to look at.

 

As for my views, they are all right down the middle

Punishment: Rehab those who need it such as drug offenders, first time offenders, those who can be turned into useful parts of society. The ones who have crossed that final line (serial killers, repeated child rapists or just rapists in general), cut the ties and send them on their way. If 50 years in prison doesn't feel like enough, then kill them. It's not something most of us want to do but sometimes it's the only solution.

 

Abortion: I've never had a problem with it until it becomes birth control. I like an plan of each female gets two abortions in their lifetime but those two are not counted as used in the event of rape, incest or the life of the mother is threatened if the child remains. I just don't want abortion to become a free ticket to fuck up. Sometimes when you fuck up, you fuck up. You cannot always fix it. Getting preggers five different times and having five abortions before the age of 30 is just what it is...bad.

 

Gay Marriage: I personally have no problem with it and have never seen why gay men/women should not allowed to be married. If it's a tax issue, then cut the tax break married couples get. You shouldn't be rewarded for being married, you were already rewarded with having someone in your life you love and care about. That's your blessing, not a tax cut. Too bad, you have two incomes now paying for one home so you can afford it.

 

Social Sec: The private funding idea has merits but it also has way too many flaws. However, just sitting on our hands and saying how fine and dandy the system is when it obviously is not (more people, less people paying in, longer lives of the elderly, skyrocketing costs making the little they get unable to cover costs) is a worse idea that the private funding. I don't have the answer, and I'll freely admit I don't have it. But if about 100 people got together in a room with no agenda other than fixing the problem and not giving a damn if they get credit, the problem could be fixed or at least be moved in the right direction.

 

That's my thing, sometimes I don't have the solution and I know I don't have the solution. One thing I do know is lots of good ideas are just destroyed because of who said them. It shouldn't matter, if the idea is good and sound then fuck the letter and let's see if we can make it spin.

 

And I've been called conservative and liberal on here by quite a view when I do come up with an idea that doesn't lean into their belief. I just bury my belief and try to think of something that would work for others. Because if my belief only works for me but going against what I believe works for everyone else then my belief really is something I can give up for the greater good. And that's something most people refuse to do, they would rather everyone else get on their side or fuck em all. The only belief that should always hold true is everyone is equal no matter what they look like and they should be treated with the same respect as they offer you. If they want to kill, then they lose the respect and get the punishment deserving of their crime. The rest of my beliefs, they are very open for discussion and I'm not going to stand on top of the box and scream I am right when I know I am not.
