Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2005 This is the 3rd time I'll be facing CC over the last 2 years. I don't think I've beaten him yet. Last year's game saw me w/ 1 of the highest scores of the season, only to have him beat me by 1.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 (edited) Mid South Title Game Picks Alabama - AlwaysPissedOff Northern Illinois Fresno State Texas Central Florida Navy USC Georgia West Virginia Louisville Virginia Tech Hawaii TB #1: 53 TB #2: 157 LSU - teke184 THURSDAY MAC Title: Akron vs. Northern Illinois FRIDAY Louisiana Tech at Fresno State SATURDAY Big XII Title: Colorado vs. Texas Conference USA Title: Tulsa vs. Central Florida Navy vs. Army UCLA at USC SEC Title: Georgia vs. LSU West Virginia at South Florida Louisville at Connecticut ACC Title: Florida State vs. Virginia Tech San Diego State at Hawaii Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Louisiana Tech/Fresno State game? 57 Tiebreak #2: How many rushing yards will UCLA's Maurice Drew have against USC? 90 teke is more man than all of you as he picks Colorado, but they also disagree on the SEC title game. Guest Report post Posted December 2, 2005 I'm surprised that you didn't make a set of questions similar to the tiebreakers where whoever would get closer would get a point. That's a possible idea for consideration.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 I've decided that next year I'm going have the championships be played over week 13 & 14 and just have the regular season be 12 weeks. There's too few games going on those weeks and best to combine them to create more differing picks. Who You Need to Win Big Atlantic Title Game #1 Miami* (Spaceman Spiff, 9-4) vs. #3 Syracuse* (CanadianChris, 9-4) UM: None SU: None Tiebreak: 50/55 Mid South Title Game #2 LSU* (teke184, 9-4) vs. #4 Alabama (AlwaysPissedOff, 11-2) LSU: Colorado, LSU AL: Texas, Georgia Tiebreak: 57/53 Big MAC Title Game #9 Penn State* (therealworldschampion, 8-5) vs. Northwestern* (Kingofthe909, 8-5) PS: None NW: None Tiebreak: 80/60 Pac-8 Title Game Hawaii* (Will Scarlet, 7-6) vs. Oregon* (nogoodnick, 6-7) HI: Tulsa OR: Central Florida
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2005 ... I bet on Colorado? F************************ck... what was I thinking? (Or should that be "What was I drinking"?)
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Can we just stop this contest after Week 12 next year? I'm about to go 0-5 from Week 13 onward over the last 2 years, because there is no way this game is going over 52.
Guest Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I'm going to win this week, thanks to Fresno's total inability to score.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 And Fresno State scores on fumble return while LA Tech is trying to rundown the clock, pushing the total score (at the moment) to 55 and that means Syracuse has won the Big Atlantic title. This makes things verrrrrrrrrrrry interesting as the one sure thing going into this week was if Miami won they are going to the Bored Bowl. They might still as they had a nice little cushion over #2 thu #4.
Guest Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I think this game could wind up at 69 or 70 points, which could make me the winner or make me have to depend on the 2nd tiebreak.
Guest Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I WON THE BIG MAC! Now I'm pretty sure that I'll be ranked.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Wow. I don't believe it. Now we have some built-in controversy if Spiff gets to the title game and I don't, given that I beat him twice...
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 I hate you CanadianChris. ::shakes fist angrily::
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 OMFG~! I might end up as Auburn 2003...
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2005 Well, Tulsa just took a 17 point lead with about 2 minutes remaining, so it looks like I am going to take the PAC 8 this year. I am shocked no one else picked Tulsa this week. They seemed like they were the better team going into the game, and proved it rather well. My first Conference Championship win, and now it's onto a bowl against an underrated Northwestern team. Not bad considering my team started 2-5.
Guest Report post Posted December 3, 2005 This is my first year doing this and a conference title win shows me that I can compete for a Bored Bowl spot next year. Two teams on good runs play each other in the bowl.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I've put in the results of the three finished match-ups and the picks based on the six games completed so far today. At this very moment this is how the Top 4 looks: 1. Miami 4.2 2. Alabama 5.0 3. Syracuse 5.1 4. LSU 5.2 It does look like Spiff will back his way into the Bored Bowl as their cushion coming into this week was just too big to lose. But you see it is way too close to call for #2 with the Mid South title game still to be decided.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) You want something freaky? If West Virginia, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Hawaii all win, there will be a TIE for second. And let the record show that if I finish third, it's because my opponents were awful. How the hell am I THIRTY-SECOND OF 34 in opponents' % correct? Edited December 4, 2005 by CanadianChris
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Hmmm somebody has been recording all the results I see. Yup your opponents were terrible. I wouldn't be so sure about the three-way tie thing. Unrelated, Oregon losing means that no bowl eligible team will be left out of the bowls.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Hmmm somebody has been recording all the results I see. Yup your opponents were terrible. I wouldn't be so sure about the three-way tie thing. Actually, someone couldn't wait to find out if he was still in it, and went back this afternoon and did a lot of work in Excel. There can't be a three-way tie, but me and APO can still end up tied if three of those four teams win.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) Right now regardless of what happens in the Hawaii game, it looks APO will beat you out. If Fresno State shows up or if Northern Illinois doesn't blow it with 10 seconds left, you would have finished #2. I'll still wait until the end of the game Hawaii game late tonight to post the final results. teke will end up #4 but I'm gonna bump him out of the BCS as he'd end up playing a team he already played. teke184 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Bah... I go from the Benchwarmer Bob Bored Bowl to the Lucky Strikes Cigarettes Tar Bowl? That fucking sucks! I guess LSU = Oregon for the purposes of this contest then...
