The one and only 5/27/02 raw thread

No matches have been announced thus far, but here is the latest preview.

If there is one thing that Mr. McMahon has learned over the years, it is that he should never cross a Rattlesnake.

Last Monday, RAW brand owner Ric Flair proved that he has not yet picked up on that bit of knowledge, as he took away the one thing he thought would hurt Stone Cold Steve Austin the most -- the thrill of competition. The Nature Boy has officially benched the Rattlesnake! What will Stone Cold have in store for Flair and his rules? Does the Nature Boy have more punishment in mind? Find out tonight on RAW!

WWE almost had a new Undisputed Champion last week, as Rob Van Dam had the title in his hands before Flair restarted the match, which ultimately went to the Undertaker. After being screwed over by the Nature Boy, and also pummeled by the Dead Man, what kind of revenge will RVD have in mind tonight in Edmonton?

Heeded by the return of Kevin Nash, the nWo has now regrouped and they seem to be focused on terrorizing RAW once again. Now that Booker T has accepted his role in the faction, what will happen to his relationship with the Bizarre One, Goldust?

You can't miss RAW, tonight at 9/8 CT on TNN, live from the Skyreach Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada!

Well, I'm looking forward to it.  Hopefully some of last week's momentum carries over to tonight's show.  Someone earlier brought up how Raw is in Chris Benoit's hometown, which may or may not mean anything.

Hmmm, a little weird they didn't hype up Eddie and Austin.... Hopefully, they don't go by the ratings from last week and cut that angle already.

Damnit, Eddie can put ass' in the seats!

It seems as if a Raven's Nest/Flock may be in the works too. They were kindof hinting it off on Sunday Night Heat with Raven saying Justin Credible & Tommy Dreamer needed guidance, and then leaving towards the end of the show.

If Vince & Steph are back, his revenge will probably be him going right back to curtain jerking again.

I think this would be a good time for the Flock too.  It would also be a good way to bring up some of the OVW/HWA talent.

I have high hopes for this RAW in terms of the storylines but if we end up with the same crappy wrestling then what is the point???

Well 1998 was a good year that had great storylines and horrible wrestling.

According to the meaningless Cable TV preview:

"Stone Cold chases down Eddie Guerrero."

I would think so, probably 8 or 16 guys from each show, culminating in a RAW guy vs. a SD! guy at the PPV.

Um, is there even going to be a KotR tourney this year? I've heard rumors that the WWF is dumping it...

At the official site it shows the shadow of a man standing between the RAW and SD logos and it mentions the crowning of a 2002 King.

So yeah, I'd say it will have some from SD, some from RAW, and that the tournament is going to happen.

Ok, RAW is starting...I don't have very high hopes, but hopefully WWF proves me wrong.

RVD vs Eddie for IC belt...Ladder match!

Well, that sounds good already!

Brock vs Bubba Ray Dudley...hmmm...potential there I guess.

Well, time to watch.

And Benoit is out...damn. Looks like some people in a previous thread were right. Smarks everywhere are creaming themselves.

BENOIT!!!!!!! I'm glad I actually decided to watch tonight. I liked his old theme much better....

Eddie vs. RVD? Well, I guess it's safe to say Austin will cost Eddie the match and that doesn't look good for the chances of UT vs. RVD at the ppv in that case.

Damn right I'm creaming myself now. I'm single-handedly counting on Benoit to turn the company around.

Hey, since we're giving out gold to anyone with a big enough pop, how about making the Undertaker lay down for Benoit tonight?

Wow.  Benoit and Eddy to start the show.  This show is looking up already.

Not sure where this interview is going...but it's good to see two of the not-so-usual suspects in the opening promo/interview time.

Benoit vs. Eddy cutting promos on each other?  Best way to start off RAW in ages.  This would be perfect if that fucking parrot wasn't talking.

Eddy:  I got, charisma!

Lawler:  He's got charisma, JR!  WHOO HOO!  Puppies...
