Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 So last Saturday night I got into a car accident. The only major thing that needs replacing on my car is my right headlight. I'm not a car person and I was wondering, are there standard headlights you can buy for any kind of car or do you have to order a certain type for the kind of car you have? I honestly don't know. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 you need the actual headlight for your actual make and model...i may regret asking YOU this , but give me some details on your accident...you may need to get everything looked at to insure you don't have further damage beyond what you see... Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 Thanks Lushus, anyways basically what happen is this. I was going to San Fransisco and about a mile before the toll plaza, I glanced away from the road to see something for a second, I can't excatly remember what and when I looked back up traffic had just stopped. I slamed on my brakes and they locked up, I pulled the car a bit to the left so I wasn't going to hit the guy head on and basically the very right of my car hit the guy from behind. My headlight and blinker needs to be replaced. My hood didn't get squashed but for me to actually close it. I have to rest it on the car, push the little hook into it's hole, then kick it into place so it locks. Also the top rightside of my bumper has a giant hole. To me the headlight is the important thing cause I need to be able to drive my car at night. I do a lot of traveling during the night time. I can live with kicking my hood in for a little while and the bumper will be the last thing that gets replaced. After the accident I did look at the engine area with a police offer and we both found it to be ok. I've been checking for leaks since and I haven't been leaking anything. As far as I can tell since I hit him with the far right side of my car, its all body damaged. Not to much but I need that headlight. That sucks I have to order it. Oh I should also point out, after the accident I drove it on and off for about 50 miles during the same night......I still had to work a spotlight for the Rocky Horor Picture Show. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 how is your alignment? Depending on how hard you hit the car, that may need to be tweaked...
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 feels the same as before. My wheel feels a bit looser, but i'm not going all over the road. Well for a headlight update, I tried ordering one through the local parts store and no luck. I tried to order one through a ford dealership but it was going to be around 200...FOR A FUCKING HEADLIGHT! Luckily I found one on Ebay for 10 bucks. I'm hoping I win that one. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 junkyards are your friend...
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Apprently so is Ebay. I also found a website that sells headlights for about 60 tp 70 bucks. If it wasn't so wet out at the moment, I would be going to Junkyards, but I'm going to try this guy on ebay first then a junkyard.
