Special K 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 There's some interesting images on the site from the movie. I hope it kicks ass, I love the Silent Hill games.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 I don't see why they wouldn't use it. They'll likely get some good entries. It's not like posters these studios come up with on their own are all great. if I had any talent I'd enter

Do you think they would actually use the winning poster to promote the film? Resident Evil did this as well. I have a copy of the winning poster, which is miles better than the poster that the studio created. For this one - I don't think they'll be making it into a full size poster: * Must be 481 pixels wide by 715 pixels tall at 72 dpi. * File Size must be no larger than 300k. * File must be submitted as a GIF or JPG in RGB color. This is very low quality to even consider printing up... you can't design low at 72dpi and then convert it to 300dpi for print. It just doesn't work that way. And... Prizes: One (1) Winner Prize: A Winner Prize package consisting of: $2,500.00 cash; twenty-five (25) tickets to a local promotional screening of Silent Hill currently scheduled in or around April 2006, subject to MPAA restrictions for attendance; a copy of a limited run Silent Hill movie poster as created by Winner; Winner's poster as a mobile phone wallpaper to be made available for free at the Silent Hill mobile Web site (subject to mobile phone compatibility); and a Silent Hill prize pack consisting of select Silent Hill merchandise ("Silent Hill Prize Pack") (Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of the Silent Hill Prize Pack: $50). ARV of the Winner Prize: $2,800.00. $2,500.00 cash portion of prize will be awarded in the form of a check made out to the Winner. Looks like the winner gets a copy of their poster and then it's only available as a cell phone wallpaper?? Edited December 8, 2005 by vivisectvi
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 And the poster becomes property of Sony Pictures to use as they see fit. Enjoy!
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2005 I'm looking forward to this one. I've mentioned this before, but it's being directed by Christopher ("Brotherhood of the Wolf") Gans, and was written by Roger Avery.

Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted December 8, 2005 I don't care how good or bad this movie is. I just want to see Pyramid Head. Sweet sexy Pyramid Head. Actually, just by still shots, it looks kind of awesome. I've decided to go ahead and get my hopes up.

dubq 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Is the movie based on any of the stories for any of the games? Or is it completely original?
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted December 9, 2005 I think it's a new story, but there are a few characters from the first game, like Cybil, Dahlia, and Alessa. Then there's Pyramid Head thrown in there somehow.
chirs3 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2005 Wait, what? Pyramid Head is in a movie based off the first game? ... I have trouble seeing how that will make sense, considering what his job was in SH2. Where is it said that he's in the movie?
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted December 9, 2005 He's in the trailer, briefly. Still shots are here. Hard to mistake his beauty for that of anyone else.
chirs3 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2005 (edited) Blargh. Hope they can come up with a decent excuse for him to show up, then. I mean, I like him and all, but what I liked more was the fact that he had a very specific reason for only being in SH2. I have trouble seeing how they can justify putting the Pyramid Head we know and love into a story in which he doesn't belong. Ah well. As far as disrespecting source material goes, this really is just a very tiny offense (compared to some other adaptations), so I'm not too worried... just annoyed.
