jester 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2005 I'm writing an essay for English class, with the working thesis that the WWE's expectations of its performers oftentimes physically harm them. What I'm looking for are examples or quotable sources (like interview/article urls) about the following: Wrestlers adding too much muscle mass to their frame (possibly adressing steroids) "Working through injuries" to avoid losing one's spot (I think Eugene and the Somas fit here, and maybe Angle getting the alternative neck surgery? I would need sources though) Hectic schedules Overuse of dangerous spots (also, do you think I could argue that this stemmed from too few moves in the main-event style?) Any other ideas for points would help, and I could leave out a citation if you can't remember anything for a good point. Also, I believe there are lots of interviews where wrestlers talk about injuries, like Kurt Angle's being deaf, etc. I'm doing my own work as well, but I'm in a pinch for time. The paper needs to be 2-3 pages long, which isn't too much, but anything helps, as it's the last paper of the semester. Thanks Try Martha Hart's book, Broken Harts. In addition to the obvious Owen incident, she does discuss people working through insane injuries at some point. She is hardly the most unbiased source, but she is a source. claydude14 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2005 Sophmore year of high school I did a research paper on the history of professional wrestling, think I got an A. Senior year I wrote a paper comparing Beowulf to HHH, with less stellar results. I think I got a C on that one.
