The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2005 I actually voted for Joe in all 3 (and gave him vs. Styles at Turning Point the TNA MOTY). I just look at his debut, and what he did in the last half of the year as more important than what Daniels did the whole year (although I would put him at #2). Daniels established himself as a guy to be put on the same level as AJ (no small feat by TNA standards) while Joe really blew the doors off the building with an upside that I think is bigger than anyone in the company. To think that he was offered a WWE contract...and the joke of what they would have done with him...while instead he spent his year in RoH and TNA putting on MOTYCs instead. To be cliche...and yet state my opinion: Samoa Joe is pro wrestling. And TNA is lucky to have him (and have done a great job with him to their credit)
Guest GoJoe Report post Posted December 20, 2005 I kinda find it hard for anyone to not vote for Daniels for MVP for 2005. Granted AJ styles is there along with Joe but Daniels worked his ass off for a good portion of 2005 and had a lot of Match Of The Night matches when it came to their PPVs. If anyone deserves that award it should be him. Joe should win the award of who to watch for 2006 through, or the X-divison award. I really hate to say this but when Daniels won the X Divison belt, the prestige of the title dropped. In the last few months and during AJ's previous reign, you could make strong arguments that the X Divison match should have headlined PPVs, it wasn't until AJ returned and Joe was built up, that the prestige returned. True, Daniels was in three MOTYC but that was only when he was paired with AJ and Joe. And while AJ and Joe were having great matches with other opponents, Daniels had technical good but unmemorable matches with the likes of Elix Skipper, Shocker and Petey Williams. Carnival 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2005 I'd say Daniels didn't hurt the X title any. He didn't help it tremendously either. But I think he did a very solid job. Then again I don't have a very high opinion of Daniels. He's just too plain for me. I can't say anything bad about him, it's just nothing stands out about him for me.
