Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Yeah during the ONE fucking punk band that played(out of like 8 bands) the hardcore kids were nowhere to be seen. They didn't want any piece of the mosh pit. I go back to those damn holes in their ears. Does anyone here have those? What are you going to do when you're old and not a hardcore kid anymore. Do people think these things through?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 I never did understand the huge earholes. I'm pierced, but I'm not stretching that shit out. Andif people get in mosh pits and don't expect to be shoved around a bit, they're fucking pussies. You want to enjoy the music but not haveany physicality? Cool... stay out of the pit. But dammit, if I can get in there at 125 pounds and get knocked on my ass, no one else should be bitching about it.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 I love that song. It's almost like an MC Lars song. Check him out. His song "Signing Emo" is genius. I don't get the shitload of piercings, either. ESPECIALLY if you're gonna mosh. That's one of the reasons I refuse to get anything pierced, besides just not giving a damn about piercings: I don't want shit ripped out in a pit. If you're gonna go to a show with heavy music and you don't wanna get bashed into? Stay off the floor. Stay near the bar, the exits, the bathrooms, anywhere with tables or chairs. The dancefloor is for those with balls, kids.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 The dancefloor is for those with balls, kids. I better not catch you moshin' when I'm moshin'! "You'll see?" Yeah, you'll see ME! Now put yer clothes on! PUT EM ON! hahahahahah HAHAHAHA

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 I totally know what your talking about. Where I live in central NJ, they are everywhere. I purposely go out of my way to go to shows in Philly or NYC just to avoid them. They totally ruin the show with their "tougher than thou" attitude. The Northeast, particularly NYC, is overrun with FSU (Fuck Shit Up), pretty much the most belligerent and piece-of-shit skinhead gang around. I've seen groups of them beat people down for having the audacity to <gasp> go and buy a shirt during a hardcore bands' set. Not to get on my old man 'back-in-my-day' high horse, but back in my day, being in the pit was a safe & fun thing. You didn't punch higher then chest level, you didn't purposely punch or kick anyone, and if someone hit the ground you helped them up. Nowadays it's the exact opposite: you try to see how many noses you can bloody or how many people you can stomp. Idiots.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2006 Oh by the way, I don't get metal antics. I got Interpol's Antics in October and thought it was pretty good. But yeah, I don't get how music compels a man to run into other like-minded men with high force and speed, and I don't get why this reaction would positively endorse the music. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 Just to clarify, FSU "stands" for Friends Standing United. Or at least it did at one point.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 I'm sad, I just went to the bostonbeatdown page, to try & C&P some of the good FSU stories from their message baord ... and it's been disabled. Boo-urns. Most of my "favorite" FSU stories were found there, with the idiots bragging about beating the hell out of people for the fun of it, even though the kids that were getting beaten were doing next-to-nothing to deserve their asskicking. Oh, such a MENSA convention. Laz, didn't they just say that it was "Friends Standing United" because they were catching shit from the police & mass media for the beatings? They were getting classified as a street gang because of it all, and had to put a positive spin on their scene. I mean, they're pretty much the only reason that hardcore shows were (are?) banned in Boston. FSU has never, and will never, be a friendly group of guys (except to other FSU members). Damaramu 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 We have guys like that around here. We call them Tulsa punks. They're "punk" kids from Tulsa that come to shows in OKC and they'll pick someone they don't like and jump the person. However they don't jump big guys b/c they're all under 6 foot so I'm usually safe from their stupidity.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 What's an Emo chord? E minor diminished? Three people will get that, and none of them will be emo listeners. Ugh. Horrible.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2006 I'm not sure as to why they changed it, but they were getting classified as a street gang at one point...and then were banned from Boston. They're the reason the BHC scene died, and I fucking hate them for it. Not even Toxic Narcotic or Slapshot are 'round here much anymore, the originators of the BHC scene, because Toxic tours in Cali all the time, and Slapshot...fuck, I don't even know if they're still around. Dama...I wanna bring my friend Adam to OKC. 5'5", if even, but he's one of the most hardcore motherfuckers I've ever met in my life. Guy can take a beating and give one like you'd never believe. Laz, Slapshot still exists, and recently released a new album, but they haven't toured the US in as long as I can remember. I actualy saw Choke a year or so ago, in a Starbucks in Boston; he was there with his kid. I had heard a rumor that he was a hairdresser, but I'm pretty sure that's BS. Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted January 5, 2006 There was an incident in December at a Donnybrook/Shattered Realm show in Tucson with the FSU guys, where hammers and machetes and shit were pulled, and a huge fight broke out. One of the guys FSU were beating on made it to his car, pulled a gun and shot one of the FSU guys, who later ended up dying. http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/news/local/120805a1_skrappys There was a show just last week which was canceled because of FSU threatening violence. Glad to see they haven't changed at all. Wonder how many people will have to die, from their crew or others, before they abandon their stupid "Talk shit, get hit" policy. nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 It's funny how you specified hammers were used, BW. I remember going to shows back in the early '90s and hammer handle incidents were so frequent that there were signs at the door that listed hammers alongside the knives, guns and alcohol as things that were forbidden inside. I've witnessed so many FSU beatings, it's not even funny. 5,6,7 on 1, just because of something the one guy allegedly did.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted January 5, 2006 Niskie mentioned Boston Beatdown before, but I found two of the trailers for the documentery, if anyone's interested. It'll give you a taste of how fucking idiotic these kids are. http://youtube.com/w/boston-beatdown-trail...ston%20beatdown http://youtube.com/w/boston-beatdown-trail...0beatdown\ Also managed to find a news clip from Boston's channel 7, which runs about 3:50 and is probably the best to watch out of the three. It has a mini-interview with the three guys who produced Boston Beatdown, and they specifically mention carrying hammers. Real tough guys. http://youtube.com/w/Boston-Beatdown-NEWS?...ston%20beatdown
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 It's funny how inconsitent their stories are with the footage. They deny that the attacks are random and that they're set-up at all, yet there's footage of kids getting sucker punched while walking across the room or just standing there. And the camera is always perfectly situated for a good shot of the brawl. I presume some are random (since they're in dark areas) but for the most part, no way are these things just random fights. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2006 I love how they take pride in being such huge pussies that they not only need to result to hammers and 4-on-1 beatdowns to get their point across, but also that they need to SUCKERPUNCH people half their size. Man, I remember back when fights were one-on-one, and if you had a problem with somebody, it was with THEM. These boys just need a good ass-whippin' from their daddies. Oh, wait, that wouldn't be "core" enough. They'd need to get an ass-whoopin' from their DRUNK daddies, thus proving to them why sXe is the way to be. Poseurs.
