Haven't seen much talk of this one so far which is a shame, because it's one of the best to come along since.......well........Lost, I guess. Which isn't long but doesn't at all change the fact that this is a first-rate piece of television.

A Sleeper Cell, for the uninformed is a terrorist cell that remains largely inactive, aside from one specific task which they carry out on orders. This show follows the lives of 5 Islamic Soldiers involved in their own version of a Holy War. The fact that only one of the them is from the Middle East is one of the more captivating points of the show, the leader of the cell Farik, played by Oded Fehrer of The Mummy fame. The rest are made up of a blonde-haired American guy born in California named Tommy, a former French White Supremacist who found Islam and a Serbian Muslim who saw his family murdered by Catholics. The final member is an Undercover FBI Agent named Darwyn Al-Syeed, a black American who was born and raised Muslim.

The performances here are incredible. I wouldn't be hasty and say the best on TV right now but Oded Fehrer and Michael Ealy, who plays Darwyn are both excellent. The stories and point of views are always compelling and fresh because of the backgrounds of all the different members. They all have a core purpose and following but very different opinions and ways.

I'm hopefully not the only one watching this. For Canadians who have The Movie Network the first 5 episodes are currently available through the On Demand Free Channel. Yanks can catch it on Showtime. Check it.

Saw it before "Masters of Horror" last week. Liked what I saw, so I'll definately be coming back for more.

Also, I'm still loving "Masters of Horror". Some people have been disappointed by it, but so far, there's only been one episode I didn't like ("Chocolate").
