Good thing your still high on the themes. :-) Currently I´m doing bios for all the very old school Japanese wrestlers so with a little work we might figure out those damn kanjis. Regarding Brody/Abdullah , their themes were instrumentals. I don´t know why they handled it that way but they sure did. Though I have to admit that I didn´t listen if there were any differences between the originals and the puro versions. Gotta check on that sometime. By the way, right now I´m all into the AJPW classic shows and I´ve seen Original Sheik AND Tiger Jeet Singh use One of These Days (~1980). Damn, I neglected this forum too long

Guest Indikator Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 What I´ve recently noticed - most tag teams in the early 80´s had the theme of the more established wrestler, i.e. Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood came out to Rydeen, Jimmy Snuka & Bruiser Brody came out to Brody's Immigrant Song, Tiger Jeet Singh & Umanosuke Ueda came out to Singh's One of These Days (1981-12-13 for an instance) etc. I was really pissed of that they skipped several Ashura Hara & Tenryu entrances in the couple of shows I got in the last few weeks. BTW - I´ve gotten a Japanese kind of Puroresu Almanach from 2000 with bios for every single wrestler and they have a lot of catalogue numbers for the theme songs For an instance, let´s look how to solve the mystery of Haruka Eigens theme: (book) *insert stupid kanji that I won´t transcribe* THE BEST! I hope to post a list for each of the major promotions (throughout puroresu history.) I'm working on Zero-One right now, but there's very little listed anywhere.
