Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 Well I knew about Leatherface being an amalgam of killers but that's what I'd heard. Oh well. What was this movie based off of?
Guest guerillagenius Report post Posted February 5, 2006 Well I know this is really late but I just finally saw the movie. I thought it was funny how they said it was based on true events. That usually means that something far away happened that has like one teeny similarity and therefore it is based on true events. Someone got tortured in Asia or something so they made this movie and claimed it was based on true events......probably. I mean didn't the events that TCM is based on happen up North? And wasn't it just one guy killing some kids with a chainsaw? Anyway it wasn't scary. Nothing is really scary. Scary movies these days are just gore and nothing really scary. No, this was based on a website someone showed Eli where in Taiwan you could pay $10k to walk into a room and shoot someone in the head. The people actually wanted to be shot though, because they were going to die anyway and their family would get the money (they were incredibly poor). TCM is not true in any sense, but Leatherface is partially influenced by Ed Gein which was North (Wisconsin I think).
