TLC this Monday Night

I enjoyed Hardy vs Taker as well.

But to think that Edge/Flair is going to be anything beyond passable, you're just deluding yourself.

I would be content with passable.

So the world champion is going to bump like hell for the old guy, or is Flair going to take a few bumps and bleed like crazy?

Im going to watch because I think both will happen. Hopefully its entertaining, but its going to depend on the booking. A good 10 minute bloody brawl with a few big bumps should be fun...but itll probably end up being a bunch of run-ins and 'controversial shenanigans'

I'm calling it. Beth and the guy that is taking Flair to court are going to run in and help Edge win the match.

Edge should just end the feud by sleeping with her.

Cause that would mean David Flair would come in and feud with Edge. And no one wants that.

Or maybe Reid would join Edge.

Here's the thing with Cena. Could it be that fans like him as a guy on the show, but think he's a joke in terms of being a world champion? I also noted that without the belt his reactions improved last week. Thing is, if they just put it back on him again what does that really do? Fans will go back to hating him again. We need a rest from Cena in the main events.

My whole problem with Cena:

He was doing fine on Smackdown. I think he fit in real well with the more "urban" feel of the show, and the kind of audience they were targeting. Then he suddenly comes to RAW with zero build up, and the fans have to accept him as the top champion, when Batista had been quite over in that role on RAW.

Then, to make matters worse, he doesn't get any real kind of feud or angle to start with. He's just "there." So, WWE goes the Stone Cold root, and tries to start a feud between Cena and Bischoff. The only impetus for the whole angle is a shot of Cena and Bischoff arguing in the parking lot one Monday Night, with no explanation other than vague statements like "he doesn't want to play by Bischoff's rules", etc. Cena is then booked to be an Austin-like character, when really he's not supposed to be. The fans are tired of the same old, same old, so they boo him.

Really, it's WWE's fault, not Cena's.

Agreed. They also repackaged Cena from an edgy, heelish thug (particularly his pre-match raps, which were the major catalyst for his popularity in 2003/2004) to a more generic, boring face character, thus stripping him of his uniqueness and his one connection with the audience. The problems might not have been so noticeable had he not switched to Raw, since his first few months on Raw were completely mishandled.

I don't think they ever need to bring back the TLC match, since it was so inherently suited to the Hardys/Dudleys/Edge & Christian matches (although Benoit/Jericho were also great in the 'forgotten' third TLC match). The fourth TLC on Raw, won by Kane, was terrible, and I can't believe WWE tried to pass it off as 'Match of the Decade' at Raw X.

You know, I'm not going to completely write this match off. The Undertaker Vs. Jeff Hardy in a ladder match looked absolutely abyssmal on paper and that turned out to be a great match.

Ninja please.

That's reaching at it's very best.

You don't think it was a good match or you don't think it was a great match? All I know is at the beginning of the match, I completely wrote Jeff Hardy off. By the end of the match, I thought he was going to win. They told a good story.

That one close-up shot of Jeff climbing the ladder was PERFECT. Going back and looking at that thread shows that some people wanted him to win, but were quite relieved when he didn't.

I quite liked the TLC won by Kane in terms of the match itself. It was the utterly horrible HHH/Katie Vick stuff in the aftermath that gives people a sour taste.

I maintain that Cena's popularity first started to decline when Christian called him out constantly and Cena did nothing. Fans listened to Christian and started believing him, at least I think so. Cena fit in with the more ghetto nature of Smackdown, and as I've said before he mostly feuded with guys the fans had no respect for. No matter how stale Cena was can you see fans turning on him for the likes of JBL, Carlito (although that has happened recently!) in that US title feud, Rene Dupree, Kenzo Suzuki, etc.?

Change him over to Raw and put him against some guys the fans actually find credible and it's a different story. Even as jobbed out and heatless as Jericho was, he still has fans and they cheered him over Cena. The fact that Jericho still had about half of that SS crowd, despite being booked like a jobber, speaks volumes.

With the title change being a recognition of the backlash on Cena, then it's probable he isn't getting the belt back soon.

I'd agree with this if it weren't for the fact that they're still using the spinner title belt. That seems like a sign that they're putting it back on Cena soon and don't want to bring back the old title for Edge to use and then replace it again with the spinner title in a short time frame.

Either that, or Vince is now convinced the spinning belt is "cool".
