dubq Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Also, VNV is glorified synthpop garbage. Wumpscut is okay, but it's very cookie-cutter. I would also add Pain Station to the list of recommendations, though.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Only bands close to industrial that my friend Wes listened to that I could remember off of the top of my head and wasn't already mentioned.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I enjoy Skinny Puppy's The Process.
Nighthawk Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Fans of some of the fringe industrial mentioned should enjoy some of the more extreme, visceral forms of techno. I'll recommend Rotterdam Terror Corps, which is gabber, and Speedy J, who is at the extreme end of what's called Detroit Techno. The latter is easier to get a hold of.
Gary Floyd Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 VNV is glorified synthpop garbage. Wumpscut is okay, but it's very cookie-cutter. Eh, the whole EBM music scene sucks now. Sure, there's a few decent acts out now, but most of today's acts suck. I miss Nitzer Ebb. Fans of some of the fringe industrial mentioned should enjoy some of the more extreme, visceral forms of techno. For that, I'd reccomend Shitmat, some Venetian Snares (especially the album "Winnepeg is a Frozen Shithole"), some early Aphex Twin (especially Caustic Window) and DJ Scud. Hard stuff there.
