The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2006 They're not as well known as a Video iPod is or anything, but upon researching some nice alternatives, I stumbled upon these two to be the best. I've read all the reviews online as possible, but some of them don't address some questions I have. If anyone has one of these players, I have a few questions about them: For the MPIO (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10062521&catid=10205): How is the Adobe Acrobat reading capability? I just want to know how clear the text is displayed and if you can zoom in on the PDFs. Also, does it play other text files in .DOC or .TXT or anything? And does it have a photo viewing capability for JPEGs? With zoom? For the Samsung (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10065038&catid=10205): I know this can't read PDfs, but how is the JPEG viewing capaibility? If the JPEG had text in it, would you be able to zoom in close enough to be able to read the text? And what type of text, document or picture files does this play? I ask these questions because I like reading my class notes for school whenever possible, but sometimes it's very tedious to bring all the notes and I never really know when it is usefull. With the storage capacities of these players, I could easily put all my class notes onto one of these players (in either PDF or JPEG format). My only concern is how clear they will be displayed. Even if scrolling is a pain in the ass in any of the players, it' wouldn't matter to me so long as the text is clear. I don't even know how many people have these players, and maybe this post was a total waste, but please respond if you can.
