Steve austin says the wwe sucks

Austin didn't like the stuff he was doing during his heel turn??? That's a shame. That stuff was legitimately entertaining to me, and part of the reason for that was that Austin seemed to be having the the time of his life out there. Oh well...

As for him speaking out against the writing team...I dunno. Part of this is definitely because he's disappointed that he's not the top guy, but also buy that he's seriously concerned about the creative direction of the company, because for one, while artisticly, much of 99 was ass, the WWF was doing good business and ratings were through the roof. It's hard to criticize the product when it's successful, as opposed to now when ratings are dropping by the week. I this situation kinda reminds me of the star player riding the bench on a losing basketball team. He begs to get put back in the game because he thinks he can turn things around for the team, and gets mad when the coach doesn't put him in...man I hope that analogy made enough sense.

Until next time, drink Pepsi.

but the WWE won't give him the ball because he is WCW.

I know this is completly off topic, but why do people still feel that Vince just wont let anything from the old WCW be recognized at the WWE/F level. I feel that it is wrong, because when you look at it, when all of the titles were unified, the person who held the WCW belt at the time of the unification match, won. The Dud's who were the WCW Tag Champs at SS'01 beat the WWF Tag Champs, The Hardy Boyz. Edge, who was the U.S Champ at SS'01 defeated Test who was the I.C champ and Y2J was the WCW Champ when he beat SCSA at Vengence. Now, even though only one of the people who had won the WCW Title holder's actually wrestled in it, The fact is that the WCW Title holder's went over all the WWF title holders. Just a point to ponder

I think a part of that answer has to do with locker room morale.

I would imagine that the guys in the back would be pretty upset with a new guy (regardless of how long hes been around in the business) coming in and rising to the top.  See:  Undertaker vs. the Invasion angle.

This is also why I think we don't see a full on Brock Lesnar push.

Just my opinion though.

Austin takes a stand against booking he doesn't agree with and he's a saint and standing up for whats right.

Kevin Nash takes a stand against booking he doesn't agree with and he's an asshole and he's playing politics.

What is it people?

Excellent observation!

I think Austin has kind of shot himself in the foot. He was NOT happy with his heel turn(s) from last year and was supposedly willing to do the "leader of the Alliance" storyline as long as he would be able to revert to his old bad ass gimmick. In a way Austin is responsible for his stale character because HE demanded that he go back to it rather than stick with his fresh heel persona the writers came up for him. Granted the storylines of late have been brutal, and the whole n.W.o vs. Austin angle was a debacle, but Austin needs to take some responsibility for his sad state. The writers gave him a new persona, new feuds, a new catchphrase and a ton of air time during the Invasion and he wasn't happy with it. I wonder if he regerets his decision? Anyone else miss Invasion era Austin?

Actually, from the interviews I read (I believe he did one with 1wrestling last year), he DID enjoy doing all that "funny heel" stuff last year because it explored a different part of his character, and that "goofy Austin" was closer to his real personality. He has said that he kept wracking his brain, thinking of ways to get fans to boo him. He seemed to be sick of the stale "badass" gimmick, as most of us were.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that it was McMahon who ultimately wanted Austin to revert to babyface, for business reasons, not Austin himself.

Austin wanted to turn back face. He was not happy with his merchandise royalties plummeting and that his heel character just wasn't getting over like they thought it would.

It ended up being a big political power play behind the scenes with Austin and Jim Ross pushing for Austin to turn back face while Triple H and Paul Heyman were fighting against it.

The plan since the summer had been for Austin/Triple H to be the main event of WrestleMania with Triple H winning the belt from a heel Austin. Austin's face turn threw a big crimp in all of those plans so that is why Triple H was upset. He even complained about that in an interview when he first came back, saying that there was never a payoff in the Austin heel turn. (Which is rather ironic if you think about Triple H's heel run.) That's how Jericho ended up with the belt. They needed someone to job to Triple H clean because the belt was going on Triple H regardless of how much he was stinking up the ring.

I see both sides on this Austin issue. It's nice to see someone stand up and speak out against the crappy product the WWE has been putting out lately. But at the same time, I don't believe that Austin really cares about anything other than his own character and his own place on the card. The comments seemed like a chance to take shots at the Triple H/Stephanie faction without mentioning them by name.

Austin may not go out of his way to bury the threats to his top spot like other guys, but he's hardly gone out of his way to help build up new stars either.

We tend to give Austin the benefit of the doubt sometimes because unlike Triple H the man has made a great contribution to the buisness and been responsible for a string of classic matches. I agree with your general points about Austin but the difference is that he's a real legend whereas Triple H is Mr Unexeptional, fans will attack Triple H with greater force because over the years he's given significantly less back to them than Austin.

When is Austin's contract up? I would be surprised if he resigns.

I was surprised to look on WWE.com and they were like "you've got to hear what Stone Cold says blah, blah, blah". I thought they would cover that up and not put that part in the archives.
